Seven unionists will be contesting in Singapore’s 14th General Election. This includes NTUC Secretary-General Ng Chee Meng, who will be contesting in Jalan Kayu SMC. Joining him are NTUC Deputy Secretary-General Desmond Tan, Assistant Secretaries-General Patrick Tay, Desmond Choo, Melvin Yong, Yeo Wan Ling, and NTUC Freelancers and Self-Employed Unit (U FSE) Assistant Director Jagathishwaran Rajo.

Employers, workers, tripartite partners, management leaders, and union representatives will be lauded for their contributions to advancing workers in Singapore at the NTUC May Day Awards 2025. On 25 April, this signature annual Labour Movement event will honour 143 outstanding individuals and 37 companies that embody the spirit of resilience and dedication to the worker cause.

NTUC union membership has surpassed 1.4 million. This milestone reflects the trust workers place in our mission – to uplift lives and livelihoods, and the impact of our meaningful programmes and initiatives.
