Today marks the International Maritime Organization’s Women in Maritime Day, where we recognize the people across our industry who continue to keep the world moving.   Seafarers and maritime professionals at sea and onshore are working together through an increasingly unpredictable world.   Different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives strengthen the way we operate, collaborate, and support one another. Through this video, we reflect on the importance we place at Hafnia on continuing to build an industry and culture where people can contribute, develop, and work well together. In events surrounding the IMO’s official Women in Maritime Day:   - Hafnia was honored to receive the Diversity & Inclusion Honours in Maritime 2026 award for the Hafnia Maritime Culture Lab initiative, recognizing our work to support a more respectful and inclusive culture at sea. The award was presented to Mikkel Boesen, during the High-Level Conference of the Cyprus EU Presidency. - Hafnia CEO Mikael Skov, who also serves as Co-Chair of the All-Aboard Alliance, will participate in the Alliance’s annual strategy meeting in London. Led by the Global Maritime Forum, the alliance brings together industry leaders to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion through collective action and shared commitments. - Mia Krogslund Jørgensen, will represent Hafnia as a guest speaker at the IMO’s International Day for Women in Maritime event in London under the theme: “From Policy to Practice: Advancing Gender Equality for Maritime Excellence.”   Thank you to our colleagues, crews, partners, and the wider maritime community for continuing to move the industry forward together. #WomenInMaritime

Next in Hafnia’s “Did You Know” Series!   The average age of Hafnia’s owned tanker fleet is approximately 9.7 years - lower than the industry average of approximately 14 years.   A modern fleet supports improved safety, lower emissions, and better performance for our customers.   At Hafnia, we continue to invest in high-quality, modern vessels as part of our commitment to responsible and efficient energy transportation.

Hafnia is supporting “Unspoken”, an initiative launched through the Global Maritime Forum’s All Aboard Alliance. “Unspoken” gives seafarers across the industry a safe and anonymous way to share experiences of sexual misconduct at sea. By bringing these voices forward, the initiative aims to deepen understanding of the different forms of misconduct, how incidents are currently handled, and where stronger prevention is needed. The insights gathered will help shape the industry’s first global framework to support more effective responses from maritime companies. If you are a seafarer and have an experience - past or present - that could help drive meaningful change, we encourage you to share your story anonymously via the link below. Hafnia recently welcomed around 80 participants from YoungShip Denmark to our Copenhagen office for an evening focused on leadership and career development in shipping.   The program opened with a keynote from Mia Krogslund Jørgensen, who spoke about entering the workforce in a time of constant disruption and why stability and clarity are essential for long-term performance in shipping,   This was followed by a panel discussion with Peter Kolding and Peter Sebber Larsen from Hafnia, moderated by Loukia Charalambous and Mathilde M.S. Boye. The conversation covered decision-making under pressure, career realities, and the skills needed for long-term success in shipping.   The evening concluded with networking, food, and a Hafnia-style Bingo session organized by Jens Christian Behn and Katerina Siskova.   Thank you to YoungShip for their collaboration and to all the participants for their engagement.
