  • Inspiring Future Legal Professionals with our Legal Pathways Programme! 🙌 We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our Legal Pathways Programme, a collaborative initiative with four leading legal institutions: Standard Chartered Singapore's in-house legal team, Simmons & Simmons, A&O Shearman, and Fountain Court Chambers. This programme offered students from Anderson Serangoon Junior College, Jurong Pioneer Junior College, Yishun Innova Junior College, Tampines Meridian Junior College, and Millennia Institute an unparalleled opportunity to explore the diverse landscape of the legal profession. Through a series of engaging sessions, students gained valuable insights into a range of contemporary legal issues, including: ⚖️ Disputes: Law and Order 💼 Employment Law: Making Positive Changes 🏦 Banking/Sustainable Finance: How Banking Can Save The Planet 💻 Tech: Law in the Future These sessions were conducted through various breakout sessions with lawyers and professionals from the respective legal firms. They expertly guided the students through their specialisms, explaining the nature of their work and how it is practised. This was facilitated through engaging case studies. A huge thank you to our dedicated mentors! A highlight of the programme was the concluding fireside panel discussion with esteemed professionals Pallavi Gopinath Aney from A&O Shearman, Cassia H. from Standard Chartered Singapore, Sonia Lim from Simmons & Simmons, Andrew Pullen and Caroline McConnon from Fountain Court Chambers, and moderated by Ashvin Thevar from Standard Chartered Singapore. This provided students with a valuable forum to explore career pathways, ask questions, and receive guidance from experienced professionals within the industry. We recognise the importance of such interactions in fostering social mobility and building more inclusive industries. We are immensely grateful to the panellists for their generous participation and commitment to nurturing future legal talent. This initiative represents a significant step towards creating a more equitable future for aspiring legal professionals, opening doors to the legal industry for students from diverse backgrounds. We extend our sincerest gratitude to Standard Chartered, Simmons & Simmons, A&O Shearman, and Fountain Court Chambers for their invaluable partnership and dedication to empowering future legal talent. Their commitment to social mobility is truly inspiring! ⚡

We’re all about creating opportunities for young minds to explore exciting career paths ✨ We recently partnered with Access Singapore and our panel law firms – Simmons & Simmons, A&O Shearman, Fountain Court Chambers – to host the Legal Pathways Programme for nearly 100 junior college students. Students got a glimpse into the diverse world of legal careers through insights from Veronica Ng, Head of Legal, Singapore and Indonesia Clusters, experienced being ‘lawyers for a day’, heard first-hand personal stories from leaders and engaged in a networking session with our Legal and Corporate Secretariat, D&I Taskforce team and panel firms. A huge thank-you to all volunteers for sharing your time and expertise with our next generation of legal profession aspirants! #HereForGood #SkillsBasedVolunteering #CommunityImpact

  • We began the year with the Pathways Programme in partnership with St Gabriel's Secondary School, offering students the opportunity to explore a variety of career paths through insightful sessions with industry leaders. We were honored to have a distinguished panel of speakers, including Stefanie Ang, Head of Team Nila; Jia Ling G., Marketing & Social Media Content at GovTech; Damian Ngiam (严贤泰), Head of Trust & Safety, Public Affairs & Global Policy at Tencent. Each speaker shared how their unique passions and experiences shaped their career journeys. Despite the diverse paths they’ve taken, the common thread was their unwavering determination and commitment to their professional growth. A heartfelt thank you to our speakers for their invaluable contributions. We are confident that this session sparked curiosity and inspired the students to envision new possibilities as they begin to shape their futures. #AccessSingapore #Pathways

  • 2024 was an incredible year, so we wanted to take a quick moment to reflect on some of the major milestones from the last year: ✅ Official Charity Status: We became a registered charity — a significant achievement that underscores the impact we’re making to advance social mobility in Singapore. ✅ Access Social Mobility Summit: We hosted our very first summit, bringing together 450 guests across the public, private, and people sectors to spark meaningful conversations and drive collective action on social mobility. ✅ Access Fellowship Programme: We launched our first long-term initiative to support tertiary students in transitioning from school to the workplace. A huge thank you to SHEIN for being our principal sponsor, and to our partners like Deliveroo, Schneider Electric, Constellar, and SHEIN for mentoring and empowering our Fellows. ✅ Access Alumni Network: We introduced a new platform to stay connected with past programme participants and continue supporting them as they forge their futures. ✅ 2,000 Students Impacted: Since our founding, we’ve officially reached 2,000 students, scaling our programmes significantly in 2024 to make an even bigger difference in the communities we serve. ✅ Team Growth: From a volunteer-driven organisation to a growing full-time team, we’re evolving really quickly to keep pace with the increasing scope of our work! To everyone who has been part of this journey - thank you. Your belief in our mission and support of our initiatives have made all of this possible. We’re beyond excited for what’s to come in 2025 as we grow even further and continue building brighter, more inclusive futures for all. Stay tuned for the updates ahead! 🚀 #AccessSingapore

🌟 Stretching for a Cause with Yoga Movement! 🌟 Earlier this December, we teamed up with Yoga Movement for two incredible charity yoga classes to raise funds for our student programmes in Q1 2025. We’re thrilled to share that both classes - held at YM’s Orchard and Tanjong Pagar outlets - were fully booked! 🙌 It was truly inspiring to witness the enthusiasm and excitement from all our participants. To everyone who joined us on the mat: thank you for supporting our mission and for being part of this meaningful journey with us. (A special thank you as well to Hush Candle for providing our participants with curated festive goodies!) 💙 We hope these sessions not only gave you a fulfilling practice, but also sparked conversations about social mobility and the work we do to create more inclusive futures for our communities. Together, we can indeed make a difference! Now stay tuned as we release more about our exciting lineup of activities coming through in 2025! 🚀 #AccessSingapore #CharityClasses
