Democratizing trustworthy and efficient large language model technology for Europe. TrustLLM is funded by Horizon Europe

Om oss

Democratising trustworthy and factual large language model technology for Europe. Funded under the European Union’s Horizon Europe, the TrustLLM project will develop European large language models (LLMs) that are the most trustworthy in European AI, covering a range of underrepresented languages. The project started 1 November 2023 and will run for 3 years.

Happy to share that our paper, “Not All Secrets Are Equal: Type-Aware Unlearning for Language Model Secret Removal,” has been accepted to ECML PKDD 2026 🎉 In this work, we study how to surgically remove memorized secrets from language models without affecting the model’s broader capabilities. We find that different types of secrets behave differently during unlearning, which led us to PSTU. Looking forward to presenting this at ECML PKDD 2026:  (https://ecmlpkdd.org/2026/) Big thanks to Amath SOW and Andreas Bueff, and to my supervisors Jiahui Geng, Mattias Tiger, and Fredrik Heintz for their continued guidance, valuable feedback, and collaboration throughout this project. #ECMLPKDD #MachineLearning #LLM #AIResearch This work was supported by TrustLLM and funding from the European Union 🇪🇺

  • ✨ Last week, TrustLLM held its third annual consortium meeting in Cologne, Germany, hosted at AI Village, and what a great experience it was! The project partners came together to reflect on the project so far, celebrate our shared progress, openly discuss challenges, and learn from each other across the consortium. A big part of the meeting was also about looking ahead, aligning our strategy and setting a clear direction for the next phase of the project! The discussions were open, constructive and truly inspiring. We left the meeting energised, motivated and excited about what lies ahead, with a strong sense of collaboration and shared purpose 💡 A big thank you to all partners for your commitment and engagement. It is a real privilege to work with such a dedicated consortium! Thank you Andreas Bueff, Tohid Ardeshiri, Fredrik Heintz, Maximilian Alexander Tandi, Benjamin Kille, Maaike de Boer, Denzil Abraham Joy, Nicolas Flores Herr, Nicolo' Brandizzi, Ph.D., Valentina Kerst, Daan Di Scala, Dan Saattrup Smart, Jesse van Oort, Kit Buurman, Axel Furusten, Marcel Bollmann, Ulrike Stiefelhagen, Haukur Símonarson, Stefan Kesselheim and all the other partners who joined us last week! #TrustLLM #AIResearch #ResponsibleAI #TrustworthyAI #ResearchCollaboration #EUProjects #Innovation

Happy to share that I presented my paper "A multilingual hallucination benchmark: MultiWikiQHalluA" at the RESOURCEFUL 2026 workshop at LREC! I have been working on faithfulness hallucinations rather than factual hallucinations. Unlike factual hallucinations, which rely on world knowledge, faithfulness hallucinations concern a model's tendency to generate answers that are unrelated or inconsistent with the given context. Main contributions in my paper are: - Synthetic hallucination dataset spanning 306 languages - Token-level hallucination classifiers trained for 30 European languages - Evaluation across 5 open-source models (from 0.6B to 70B parameters) for 4 languages All resources are open source! - Code: https://lnkd.in/e7ermB5m - Datasets: https://lnkd.in/eSNu8TtP  - Models: https://lnkd.in/ej-R7Stu - Paper: https://lnkd.in/ej6S6kgC Finally, an advertisement to visit my co-author (and -worker) Dan Saattrup Smart's paper (https://lnkd.in/efcBVP9z) at LREC today, and also check out my co-worker Sofie Helene Bruun's paper (https://lnkd.in/eKbjgAnZ) from the RESOURCEFUL workshop! The work presented is part of TrustLLM. #NLP #Hallucinations #OpenSource #LREC2026 #TrustLLM

  • Excited to share that Fredrik Heintz, Tohid Ardeshiri, Andreas Bueff, Jesse van Oort, Nicolas Flores Herr and Michael Fromm of TrustLLM, will be joining the Open Source Foundation Meeting (OSFM) on May 21–22, 2026 in Cologne, Germany! The two-day workshop pairs perfectly with the TrustLLM annual consortium meeting and public GeTT-together with Europe event on May 20-21 at the same venue! The workshop that is hosted by KI Bundesverband at the AI Village on the euronova Campus, brings together key voices in the AI space, and it’s great to see TrustLLM represented there.
