Your global partner in secure bolted solutions
Om oss
Nord-Lock Group is a global leader in bolted solutions. In 1982, the original Nord-Lock® wedge-locking technology that safely secures bolted joints was developed. Since then, our range of innovative bolting technologies and expertise has grown to be the most comprehensive on the market, incorporating Superbolt™ mechanical tensioners, Boltight™ hydraulic tensioners and Expander® System pivot pins. Nord-Lock Nord-Lock created the original wedge-locking technology that secures bolted joints, even when exposed to severe vibration and dynamic loads. It is impossible for our washer products to loosen unintentionally due to the wedge created underneath the bolt head and nut. Superbolt Superbolt was the world’s first to revolutionize nuts and bolts with multi-jackbolt tensioning (MJT). Superbolt MJTs take high preload requirements and break them down into manageable torques, using the jackbolts threaded through the nut body. Boltight Boltight has been at the forefront of hydraulic bolt tensioning for over a decade. Our tensioning tools provide fast, accurate and safe solutions to tighten and loosen multiple bolts simultaneously. Expander System Expander System is a permanent solution to lug wear, replacing traditional axle pins. It works for first-fit installations, preventing the formation of lug wear, or for aftermarket repairs without the need for welding and line boring - for any machine, make or model. The Nord-Lock Group believes that no one should have to question the integrity of the mechanical systems that play such a critical role in our way of life. All solutions are developed and manufactured in-house, ensuring they meet the highest standards in the industry. Our team of dedicated experts work closely with customers all over the world. Our mission is to safeguard human lives and customer investments. Nord-Lock Group is owned by Investment AB Latour that is quoted on the Nasdaq OMX Stockholm.

SMS Equipment in Fort McMurray, Canada, has relied on Expander for over a decade. A branch of one of the world’s biggest independent Komatsu dealers, it’s THE heavy equipment provider in THE Canadian region for oil sands mining. Recently, SMS Equipment utilized the Expander® System for the first time as original components — specifically in a Komatsu 980E haul truck build. As noted by Alex Kitsinelis, SMS Equipment’s General Manager for Mining Operations at Fort McMurray, turning to Expander for the project made sense given how valuable the brand’s product has proven to be for aftermarket repairs alone. Nord-Lock is pleased to support the International Bolting Engineer (IBE) program introduced by TÜV SÜD Industry Service in Dresden. The program provides a much-needed global standard for training in bolted‑connection engineering through a combination of theoretical modules and hands-on workshops. Our colleague Frank Götz contributed both to the curriculum and to the first days of instruction, bringing practical insights from real customer challenges into the classroom. With many factors influencing the performance of a bolted connection, the IBE program represents an important step toward higher safety and reliability across sectors where bolted connections are critical. What if the future of nuclear isn’t just smaller reactors… But robots tightening bolts underwater? 🤖 Experts at Boltight and NuScale Power worked extensively to develop new automated tooling with hydraulic tensioning to perform critical maintenance remotely in SMRs. From an engineering standpoint, this is a notable step forward: • Controlled, uniform bolt preload improves joint integrity and repeatability • Remote deployment reduces personnel exposure in high-risk environments • Automation enhances precision while minimizing outage variability As SMR designs mature, innovations like this highlight a critical shift — designing not just for construction, but for lifecycle maintainability and serviceability. It’s a reminder that in nuclear, even incremental improvements in bolting methodology can translate into meaningful gains in safety, reliability, and uptime. They weren’t looking for a new solution. But they found one anyway. Once Alstom, a leader in rail transportation, saw the Superbolt® technology they knew it would be the ideal way to secure train couplers. They made the switch and the results spoke for themselves: · Faster installation · No heavy tooling required · Safer working conditions · Zero issues since implementation Innovation doesn’t always come from fixing what’s broken. Sometimes it comes from challenging what’s accepted. Read the full case study: https://okt.to/QGopFX #Engineering #Manufacturing #RailIndustry #Innovation #Safety

When vibration can ground a rocket… reliability isn’t optional. PLD Space needed bolted joints that could withstand extreme vibration and dynamic loads in rocket engines — where even a tiny preload loss can mean big trouble. Nord‑Lock wedge‑locking washers delivered: converting rotation into tension to keep bolts tight, secure, and dependable. See how the technology works 👉

In 2008, a coal mine operator in Wyoming’s Powder River Basin agreed to an on-site trial of Expander pivot pins for its CAT 793B mining trucks. Back then, Expander was still a relatively new name in the mining and minerals industry. But, the story of what happened next perfectly illustrates why the Expander’s stabilizer and suspension pins have become so well-known as after-market replacements for heavy-duty mining equipment. Learn the whole story and its impact: https://okt.to/fws1ym
