AI can be a lifeline for communities hit hardest by climate change. We're supporting the organizations proving it. 🌍 When we launched the AI for Climate Resilience Program, we wanted to answer a simple question: can AI do more to help communities on the front lines of climate change? The first cohort showed us it can — so now we're opening the second round, looking for the next wave of organizations building practical AI tools to strengthen climate resilience in the world's most vulnerable communities. This month’s impact highlights — a snapshot of climate and nature projects supported through our partnership with Milkywire. 🌿 Advancing farmer-led regeneration in Tanzania A farmer restored 2,500+ trees in just three years using the Kisiki Hai (FMNR) approach — showing how low-cost, community-led restoration can revive ecosystems and strengthen resilience. Partner: Justdiggit 🌱 Protecting mangrove ecosystems in Indonesia 11,000 hectares of mangroves in the Mahakam Delta are being protected by strengthening land rights and working with local governments — supporting both ecosystems and livelihoods. Partner: Landesa 🌳 Advancing forest restoration and biodiversity recovery At Buenaventura Reserve, restoration efforts reached a 76.5% plant survival rate, with monitoring confirming the return of key species.
