    Five stars because I'm sure this works great when used correctly. I'm writing this as a warning, though. Be sure you know whether you need the 74.1 or 73.1 (now called 741 and 731 by Silca). Pre-2008 pumps had a 28mm barrel which uses the 731. Post-2008 they have a 30mm ID and the barrels went from steel to aluminum. If you don't know the age, measure.

    I was able to install this in my older pump, but it was a tight fit and the pump is hard to use. I'm ordering the correct 731 washer which should restore the pump to its good old self.

    Purchased this in a gamble to try and repair my old Schwinn floor pump from the early 90's and after rubbing in some grease it fits and works perfectly. The inside of the pump's barrel measured 29mm, that's why it was a little bit of a gamble since this cup is marketed as 30mm, but it did the trick. For reference, my pump has a chrome barrel, a black plastic T handle with "Schwinn Approved" molded in it, and the body of the gauge housing is blue. Not the traditional orange Schwinn floor pump. I had bought the pump at my local bike shop in the early 90's and it has served me well all these years until recently developing a problem of not pumping air and the handle moving freely. The cup had deteriorated and was no longer able to seal. Now once again it works like new. Very satisfied.

    My Silca pump had no identification numbers on it and had a rubber plunger. I took a gamble based on what I read and figured this was the replacement (based on when it was purchased) and unfortunately it was not. Money wasted! Guess I’ll do what I should have done in the first place and buy a presto adapter for my compressor. Silca will go to the trash along with the newly purchased plunger.

    This washer with a bit of opening of the shaft opening on the washer makes it a perfect replacement for vintage MDI or Midai vintage pumps, long unavailable. A Silca double head addition and this washer can totally refurbish your old MDI pump. I restored my old versions of both MDI and Silca pumps using the Joe Blow version of the original dual head and the MDI fittings and Silca fittings and small radiator clamps. The Silca Plunger washer works for the Silca but the new larger Silca washer works in the MDI pump as well.
