Enhance-X goes beyond simply being a tool for editing images and videos; it serves as a test bed for new AI engines, providing users a space where they can be the first to experience and learn about the latest technologies being developed.

We provide previously unreleased experimental features in advance and continuously improve them based on user feedback.

Furthermore, popular features will be gradually implemented in key services such as the Camera and Gallery.

1. Introduction to Virtual Reflector

The Virtual Reflector in Expert RAW Labs reduces shadows on the face depending on the direction of the light source, to give you brighter portraits. When shooting outdoors or indoors, if shadows appear on the face due to the direction of the light source, you can use a reflector to minimize these shadows and obtain bright photos. The Virtual Reflector feature helps you achieve bright portraits as if you were using a reflector.

2. How to use:

1) Launch Expert RAW

2) Select Virtual Reflector in Labs

- The Virtual Reflector icon was designed to portray light reflected onto a person by a virtual reflector.

3) Press the shutter button to capture the photo.

- It automatically detects light intensity and direction to provide a reflective effect.

- However, if the user wishes to adjust the color, intensity, and direction of the reflector, they can do so through the following UI.

4) When manually adjusting the position of the reflector, placing it opposite the light source may help minimize shadows.

3. When to try:

1) When the outdoor sunlight is strong and the face appears dark

Outdoor environments with strong sunlight can cast shadows on the face, making it appear dark. The Virtual Reflector feature automatically measures the intensity and direction of light source and helps to create natural and bright portraits.

2) When filming pets

The Virtual Reflector feature can recognize not only people but also pets. It automatically determines the intensity and direction of light shining on the recognized pet, resulting in brighter photos of your pet.

3) When the lighting is not uniform indoors

Even in indoor environments with uneven lighting, using Virtual Reflector brightens shadowed areas, allowing you to achieve brighter and more natural images.

Galaxy S26 is equipped with a powerful and fast search engine and a video analysis engine. This powerful AI engine allows you to search photos and videos in real time using natural sentences and expressions.

First, let us introduce the real-time search feature.

As soon as you type "Trees," photos of maple trees and snow-covered trees appear immediately in the search results. Adding a modifier after "Trees" to "Trees with snow" will instantly retrieve photos of snow-covered trees.

Furthermore, users can also see search results immediately while typing their search terms. Thanks to a powerful real-time analysis engine, users can find the photos they want even faster.

The Galaxy S26 now analyzes all contents -- both photos and videos. Equipped with an engine that analyzes video segments precisely, Galaxy S26 easily finds segments that match the search terms. For example, if you type "walking tiger," it will identify the segment of a tiger walking within a video.

Four Cinematic Styles & Color Expression Techniques

Cinematic video is achieved not only through directing and camera movement, but also through the atmosphere created by ‘color.’

We offer four styles to help you capture a cinematic mood with your camera's Log Video.

These styles are Samsung's newly designed Cinema Looks (cinematic colors) for the mobile video environment, based on the principles of colors and emotional expression methods long used in film color correction.

1. Blockbuster

Intense and three-dimensional cinematic mood

The blockbuster style creates a cinematic mood with clear contrast by harmoniously placing cool blue-teal and warm orange tones across the screen.

Instead of dividing specific areas and applying color to them, it was designed to distribute color throughout the image to allow for a natural coexistence of cool and warm colors. This prevents the scene from appearing flat, creating a cinematic sense of depth and three-dimensionality.

The blue series adds a subtle cyan tone to create a modern feel, and the orange series is kept understated to create an urban and sophisticated blockbuster tone.

These characteristics make it ideal for videos that convey a sense of human warmth.

4. Thriller

A dark and suspenseful cinematic atmosphere

By lowering overall saturation and sharply highlighting the contrast between light and dark areas, the focus shifts from flashiness to atmosphere and immersion. This style is ideal for scenes that emphasize story and emotion.

How are cinematic styles created?

- What is 3D LUT, the core technology for applying styles?

An LUT (Look-Up Table) is a map containing color conversion information, such as "Change this color to this."

Unlike typical filters that simply adjust brightness or color, 3D LUTs simultaneously transform brightness, color, and color intensity across three dimensions.

So even an original video that was intentionally shot dull, like a log video, can be expressed with accurate and consistent cinematic tones without losing color.

- What's the difference between SDR and HDR?

Even within the same style, the visual experience can vary significantly depending on how the image is presented (SDR or HDR). Therefore, all styles are designed separately for SDR and HDR, allowing users to choose the right one for their needs.

[SDR (for general videos)]

SDR is the standard video format most familiar to users.

Its natural and stable brightness makes it ideal for daily-life videos or documenting videos, making it widely used on smartphones, TVs, and most video platforms. Our SDR style expresses a cinematic style based on brightness flow that looks natural on most screens.

Simply put, it maintains a stable cinematic feel without colors popping out no matter what screen you watch it on.

[HDR (for High-Definition Video)]

HDR is a method that can express a wider range of brightness and color than SDR.

It expresses bright areas, such as sunlight and lighting, more vividly, while maintaining color and detail even in dark areas, making the scene appear closer to what the human eye sees. Our HDR style is based on the HLG method, widely used in HDR video, and exquisitely expresses a cinematic style based on a color standard (BT.2020, Ultra High Definition Color Standard) that can contain more colors.

In conclusion:

These four styles are newly designed cinematic styles based on technology suitable for the Galaxy mobile video environment, expressing colors that convey emotions.

Try applying just the mood you want to your Log video. Your video may look like a completely different story.

In the Galaxy S26 Series, we would like to introduce to you the newly added Auto Mode and the customizable shutter sound in Motion Photo.

1. Motion Photo ‘Auto Mode’ that Captures Only the Moments You Need

Worried about storage space to capture every moment on video, or that a moment is too special to only record as still photographs? Now, Motion Photo's Auto Mode analyzes your shooting environment and captures motion photos only when necessary. It automatically selects and saves vivid videos for moments of movement, and clean photos for still moments.

Motion Photo's Auto mode works as follows:

1. When capturing still scenes, such as landscapes or objects: Saves only the photo (Motion Photo Off)

2. When capturing moving scenes: Saves both the photo and a 3-second Motion Photo video (Motion Photo On)

※ However, images of human faces and pets are saved as Motion Photos even if they are motionless.

To set Auto mode, click the third icon at the top of the camera app screen.

Clicking this icon will display three Motion Photo icons in sequence. Clicking the middle icon will set Auto mode. (The icons, from left to right, are Motion Photo Off, Auto Mode, and Motion Photo On.)

Now, capture your special moments with the newly added Auto mode. Auto mode records your precious memories intelligently, helping you manage your storage space more efficiently.

2. Customize the shutter sound to your liking

You can now fine-tune the motion photo shutter sound to suit your personal preferences. Previously, shutter sound options were only available in the Camera Assistant app, but now you can change them directly from the camera's settings, making it more accessible. You can also choose the type of shutter sound produced when taking motion photos. Previously, only the video recording end sound was provided for motion photos, but now you can choose between the standard photo recording sound or the video recording end sound.

Tip: Try this!

When you're concerned about storage space: Turn on "Auto Mode" to capture and save motion photos of vivid moments of your kids running around, but only clear, still photos for moments of stillness.
When you want to change the shutter sound: Set your preferred shutter sound in the camera settings for a more natural experience.

The document scan feature delivers optimal results through innovative image processing technology. The enhanced document de-warping algorithm automatically corrects warped or folded documents, and has been specifically designed to improve the flattening of open book pages.

Additionally, a smart distraction removal system has been introduced. It automatically detects and corrects major distractions such as fingers, folded corners, and moiré patterns on the monitor, producing clean scan results.

2. User-friendly preview and editing features

Galaxy S26 is equipped with various features to provide users with a more accurate and convenient document scanning experience. The preview feature allows you to preview the scanned document beforehand and immediately edit any necessary sections.

a. Document Area Adjustment and Image Rotation

To compensate for minor errors that may occur during the scanning process, users can freely adjust the image rotation direction or manually change the cropped document area. In particular, when there are elements such as straight borders in the document, if you move the handle located in the middle of each of the four sides, a magnet function is provided that automatically snaps the handle to the straight line, allowing you to easily and quickly align the document edges. This feature is particularly useful when a specific portion of the document is cropped or not rotated to the desired angle.

Additionally, pressing and holding a corner or the handle activates a magnifying glass, allowing you to view and adjust the area in greater detail. This helps you refine minute details in your document with greater precision.

b. Filter Selection

Depending on the document type, you can choose from a variety of filters to improve readability. For text-heavy documents, you can apply filters to enhance clarity, while for images, you can apply filters to correct color. This feature allows you to automatically restore deleted objects or restore unintentionally deleted portions. Enabling the auto scan option automatically recognizes and scans the next page without requiring you to press the scan button each time. After scanning is complete, you can utilize the multi-document editing feature. This feature allows users to freely edit multiple scanned documents. You can rearrange the order of documents or add and delete pages as needed, allowing you to structure the final document as desired. It is also convenient because you can adjust each page individually, which is useful when you only need to edit a specific page. These features increase the flexibility of document work, allowing users to complete tasks more easily and quickly.

4. Save as PDF and Quick Sharing

Galaxy S26 offers PDF saving and sharing features that make document management and sharing more convenient. After scanning multiple documents, you can easily save them as a single PDF file, making document management easier.

The PDF saving feature is ideal for users who want to organize their scanned documents and it also provides the option to save them as image files.

Additionally, the Share button allows you to share scanned results directly without having to navigate to a separate app or menu. This feature allows you to quickly send documents via various channels, including email, social media, and cloud services that improve work efficiency.

5. Provides default resolution options.

Have you ever experienced inconvenience because the file size of a document image was too large when carrying it on a mobile device or uploading it to a website? To address this, we offer three resolution options: default, high, and low.

- High-resolution setting (High): Provides high-quality images, but results in larger image files and longer processing times.

- Low-resolution setting (Low): Image quality is somewhat reduced, but results in smaller files and faster results.

Steps to use Document Scan feature:

1. Camera Single Document Scan

[How to use single document scan]

Starting with the Galaxy S26, the scan button appears directly on the Photo mode preview screen. When you take a picture of a document so that all four corners are visible, the scan button at the bottom center will become active. After pressing the scan button and waiting for a moment, you can preview the scan results. After checking the results in the preview, if there are no issues, you can press the save button to save the document.

2. Camera Multi-Document Scan

Galaxy S26 supports a dedicated mode that allows you to capture multiple documents in succession. There are three main ways to access this feature.

A. After scanning the first image in Photo mode, tap the "Add Scan" button.\

B. Accessing the Document Scan icon:

Turn on the "Add Document Scan to Apps screen" option in Camera Settings → Select the Document Scan icon (see center image below).
Long-press the camera app icon to access (see right image below).

After taking multiple images using the Multi-Scan feature, press the "Next" button to review the captured images. If there are no issues, you can save them as PDFs using the "Save as PDF" button at the bottom center, or as images using the "..." button in the upper right corner.

3. Scan Documents from the Gallery

This feature is useful when you first take a regular photo of a document and then later want to scan it from the Gallery. When there is text visible in the Gallery, the T button in the lower right corner is activated, and pressing the T button activates the scan button. When you press the scan button, you can see an automatically cropped and corrected preview image with the same experience as in the camera's photo mode. If there are no problems with the scan results, you can press the save button to save it as a separate file.

Shooting Guide for Optimal Performance

1. Document Recognition

Document recognition is best when text occupies at least 20% of the document's area. If the document contains only images without text, then the camera may not recognize it as a document.

The original document should be rectangular, with all four corners visible within the camera frame without obstruction. If the document is captured to fill the screen, its corners and borders may extend beyond the screen. Therefore, the appropriate screen size for the document is approximately 80% of the total screen.

2. Photographing Documents

You will get the clearest results if you take a picture with the document's face level with the camera.

If the document is small and you take a close-up shot, some areas may appear blurry due to the high-definition camera lens. In this case, use the camera's zoom function to enlarge the image and then use the document scan feature to obtain a clearer image.

3. Document Warping & Folding

Documents folded up to two times can be straightened, and the angle between the folds can be corrected within a range of 130 to 180 degrees.

Based on the document, camera tilt can be supported up to 20 degrees based on the origin where the document appears horizontal.

4. Finger & Corner Crease Removal

For the distraction removal feature to work, there must be a minimum distance of 0.7cm between the distracting element and the document content (text/image). The feature will not work if the distraction completely obscures the content. Additionally, if the area of the distracting element is too small or its proportion relative to the document size is low, the feature may not work properly.

If the color pattern of the distraction is unusual, for example, if you have a tattoo or nail art on your finger, it may not work.

5. Removing Moiré on a Monitor

If the moiré pattern on your monitor is too thick or dark, it may not be completely removed and residual moiré may remain.

6. Document-specific Filter Functions

The Clean filter increases the contrast between content and background while removing weak colors or background patterns.

The Natural filter increases the contrast between content and background while preserving pattern information, making it ideal for enhancing the clarity of content while preserving surrounding document patterns.

The Grayscale filter converts color to grayscale while preserving natural color variations, making it ideal for removing color while maintaining natural tone variations.

The Black & White filter is ideal for images composed entirely of black and white, maximizing the contrast between the background (paper) and the foreground (text).
