Already starting to see this. Almost every company that is AI enabled, asks for an API key to claude or openAI or Gemini - even if they don't say it, they are pretty much reselling the core and building solutions on top of it - without the reseller fees.

The next 3,000 developers you hire might not be human 🤖 Last week, we hosted Eiso Kant , the CTO of poolside for a roundtable discussion with our CTO Advisory Board. 6 takeaways that stayed with me: ⏳ Models aren't fully there yet - but it's only a matter of time. Today’s models can do impressive things, but true autonomy still relies heavily on scaffolding: human review, QA layers, exception handling. The reliability rate for non-trivial tasks often hovers around 60% - far from the 99%+ needed for fully agentic workflows. But progress is nonlinear. Massive training runs are pushing model capabilities forward faster than intuition expects. 🐎 Relevancy will also matter as much as raw horsepower. Smart models are table stakes. Models that deeply understand YOUR codebase, YOUR libraries, YOUR business context - that’s where the competitive advantage will be built. 📦 AI won't make coding a black box - it will redefine the developer’s role. The fear: Black box spaghetti code. The reality: Better refactoring, modularization, and documentation - if you use AI as a partner, not a vending machine. Developers won't disappear. They'll evolve - from manual coding to interrogating, curating, and steering AI agents. 🧪 Measure leading indicators, not just lagging ones. Waiting six months for productivity metrics to improve (like PR cycle time) is too slow. Instead, track AI usage today: (1) How many engineers are using it daily?, (2) How many completions are leading to accepted code changes?, (3) How often are models handling full tasks vs. just assisting? 🏆 Don’t trust public benchmarks. Run your own evals. Public benchmarks are increasingly noisy - and often gamed. If you're serious about AI integration, you need your own mini-evaluation suite, tailored to your codebases and workflows. External hype fades. Internal truth compounds. 🌎 Plan now for a world where AI is your fastest-growing team. In a few years, scaling engineering won't just mean adding humans. It’ll mean managing fleets of autonomous AI agents - evolving daily, operating at cents on the dollar. That future demands hard rethinking today: How do you design onboarding, collaboration, and governance when half your workforce isn’t human? Where will human judgment and creativity still matter most? How do you build compliance frameworks for autonomous agents? The firms that treat AI as labor - not software - will define the next decade.

Polish startup mysite.ai has closed its pre-seed round at €2.1 million to bring AI employees to small businesses. mysite.ai (previously Codejet) is developing a fully autonomous AI assistant to manage a small business's entire online presence, from building a website to running social media, paid ads, lead generation, and content creation. The platform is designed for non-technical small business owners, giving them the power of a "full-time AI employee" without the need for a marketing team. The round was led by Inovo.vc, and joined by existing investors Sunfish Partners, Fabian Q. Veit (CEO, make.com), Bart Roszkowski (co-founder of Alokai), and other business angels. ‘Startups building things for other startups have a big pool of potential users in the other companies we've funded, and none took better advantage of it than Stripe. At YC we use the term "Collison installation" for the technique they invented. More diffident founders ask "Will you try our beta?" and if the answer is yes, they say "Great, we'll send you a link." But the Collison brothers weren't going to wait. When anyone agreed to try Stripe they'd say "Right then, give me your laptop" and set them up on the spot.’ This idea applies to getting adoption for new tools and solutions internally in a company as well! https://lnkd.in/geGjQA7F

Excited to share some insight into the work we've been doing with Spotify. Anthropic just published a case study on how Spotify is using the Claude Agent SDK to transform the way they manage code at scale. Their codebase requires constant migrations across thousands of repos, and traditional scripting couldn't handle the complex, context-aware transformations their engineers needed. By integrating Claude Agent SDK into their Fleet Management infrastructure as a background coding agent, engineers now describe migrations in plain text and the agent autonomously executes them from prompt to merged pull request. The results: → Up to 90% time savings on complex code migrations → 650+ agent-generated pull requests merged into production per month → Hundreds of engineers triggering autonomous code changes via Slack → Platform teams now tackling projects that were previously too costly to attempt Niklas Gustavsson, Spotify's Chief Architect and VP of Engineering, said it well: "Claude has consistently delivered the strongest performance for large-scale code transformation work, which is why it has become our model of choice." Moltbook and OpenClaw are really fascinating of ecosystems of Agents but ... humans are also participants and active in interacting and manipulating them (and being manipulated by them). Such emerging platforms/tools come with many security and societal risks. So, how do we design Human-Agent Systems that actually work.... Over 10 years ago, a team made up of Computer Scientists, HCI experts, and Social scientists conceptualised and researched such systems and developed a principled and scientific approach, to studying and building them for real-world applications (Disaster Response/Energy Systems). It was called The ORCHID project (www.orchid.ac.uk - funded by EPSRC) led by Nick Jennings CB FRS FREng with partners from University of Oxford, University of Southampton, and University of Nottingham. They introduced the framework of Human-Agent Collectives. https://lnkd.in/efKcCAcP Key elements of Human-Agent Collectives: - Flexible autonomy: either human or agent may take control at any time. - Agile teaming: humans and agents coalesce to form teams depending on arising needs. - Incentive engineering: agents and humans need to be given incentives to act to meet the system designers' objectives. - Accountable Information Infrastructure: agent and human data and decisions need to be tracked and assured The project led to major innovations such as the W3C PROV standard to track agent and humand decisions and data on the Web, several startups deploying agents in Fire and Rescue services (FireServiceRota), environmental monitoring (AudioMoth), Energy: MyJoulo, Empati. The key is recognizing where to invest your learning time ⚖️ Technical debt as financial debt - Pick the high-impact debt with the highest "interest rates" and pay that down first 🎯 Audience empathy - The most undervalued communication skill for tech leaders. Always ask: what does my audience already know? And avoid the curse of knowledge! We’ve just released our incremental Person entity resolution. Our composable linking modules have enabled deep linking, which iteratively link records to improve both linking rates and accuracy. Now, our modular linking has also enabled incremental linking, so we don’t have to link 100B+ records from ground up every month or two.
