The Women Up programme - in partnership with Nova School of Business and Economics Executive Education and Sonae - reflects EDP’s ongoing commitment to more inclusive leadership. It is designed to support women in leadership roles and help them accelerate their careers. This past March, during the month of International Women’s Day, participants from around the world came together for an immersive, in-person week at NOVA SBE in Carcavelos. Over six days, they shared experiences, challenged perspectives and strengthened the skills needed to lead in an increasingly complex world. EDP has expanded its renewable footprint in Spain with the commissioning of two new photovoltaic plants in Navarra: Cierzo II (42 MW) and Cierzo IV (47.5 MW), adding a combined 90 MW of clean energy to the electricity system. Combined, these projects will power 45,000 households, avoid an estimated 400,000 tonnes of CO₂ and have created over 200 jobs across 60 companies, reinforcing energy independence and a sustainable transition in the region. EDP has also implemented infrastructure improvements and robust biodiversity measures, including habitat protection for steppe birds, nest boxes for lesser kestrels, and shelters for bats, reinforcing our commitment to responsible renewable development in Navarra. EDP marks the completion of Pleasantville Solar, a 150‑MW project developed by EDP Renewables North America in partnership with Microsoft. The project will power the equivalent of 39,500 homes and businesses while strengthening grid reliability and supporting lasting economic growth in Fulton County, Illinois. EDP, through EDP Renewables North America, has installed a 720 kW rooftop solar system at the Mercedes-Benz USA Parts Distribution Centre in California, helping power the facility's daily operations while lowering energy costs and enhancing long-term utility price stability for the location. The project, which supported 65 construction jobs, turns unused rooftop space into clean‑energy production and is expected to generate more than $18,200 in electricity cost savings.
