Your answer appears to predicate "determinism is contradictory" upon the premise that "initial conditions are required." But it is unclear to me that initial conditions are required. Why must we have a determined set of initial conditions?

If there are no initial conditions, there are no subsequent conditions either. If there is no cause, there is no effect.
