    Before I joined Tier One, I never really used Discord. I associated it mostly with gaming communities and online groups not with serious, day-to-day work collaboration. My default tools were email, chat apps, and scheduled meetings. Structured, familiar, and slower. When I entered Tier One, that changed immediately. Discord wasn’t just another tool it was the operating system of how teams communicated and executed. At first, it felt overwhelming. Multiple servers, dozens of channels, threaded conversations, voice rooms, bots, pinned updates everything moving at once. I initially tried to use it like a normal messaging app, and it didn’t work. Conversations were too dynamic and too interconnected. Decisions, files, feedback, and approvals were happening in real time across channels. So, I adjusted my approach. I learned how to structure notifications, follow the right channels, use threads properly, and move discussions into voice when speed mattered. I saw how quick huddles replaced long meetings, how async updates reduced back-and-forth emails, and how transparency improved because conversations were visible to the right teams by default. What stood out most was the pace of collaboration. Campaign ideas were brainstormed live. Creative assets were reviewed instantly. Production issues were solved in minutes through voice and screen share. Approvals could happen with a reaction, not a meeting. The workflow became faster and more fluid. Discord stopped being “a chat platform” and became a shared digital workspace where execution, culture, and collaboration lived in the same environment. Adapting to it wasn’t just about learning a new app. It was about adapting to a faster, more open, and more connected way of working.
