    London Design Council

    Spark is a leading UK product innovation support programme and fund. The programme provides design expertise to help shape business opportunities and develop product innovations through an intensive 16-week process, which gives access to specialists across business, IP, investment, and marketing.

  • SMART: Scotland feasibility award

    Scottish Enterprise

    Successfully completed a feasibility study looking at utilising new technology to reduce the peak and average pressure under horse saddles. We refined our dynamic load distribution system to enable increased flexibility of the saddle, whilst at the same time enhancing load distribution properties ensuring that the seat and stirrup pressure from the rider was evenly spread.

  • Sporting Chance award

    Sporting Chance

    This award allowed us to collaborate on a research project with the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, to assess the performance of our dynamic load distribution system on saddle pressure. We studied sitting trot on a straight line and on a circle, and compared two-point position with a seated riding position at canter on a circle. Overall, we achieved a 27% reduction in average pressure and a 17% reduction in peak pressure, when compared with a traditional saddle.

    Edinburgh Napier University - John Logie Baird Awards Programme

    Awarded Young Innovator of the Year for my redesign of the stirrup system from first principles.
