The sign of a good coaching question? When the person on the other side pauses and says, "That's a good question." Daniel Walters - CTO coach and former CTO of Seek Asia - told me that it is his measure of success in a session. The broader point here was about the importance of a safe space and time dedicated to learning and experimentation. Software engineers get provided AI engineering tools and with it an expectation to be 10x more productive, immediately... ... and it doesn't work that way... there's heaps to learn in order to realize the productivity and quality improvement potential.
