A lot of operational communication in shipping still happens across email chains, calls, and disconnected systems. That becomes even more challenging when voyage plans change and decisions need to move quickly between vessel and shore. SeaNavigator Mobile gives shore-based teams access to voyage updates, vessel monitoring, operational alerts, and plan confirmations directly from your pocket. Here's a quick look at how it works ⬇️ If you are at Posidonia next week, stop by Booth 2.252 to learn more about the app and see a live demonstration. #ShippingIndustry #MaritimeTech #VoyagePlanning #MaritimeIndustry #WeatherIntelligence #Posidonia2026 #ProductLaunch

Over ons
Weathernews empowers you with relevant weather and climate insights Better decisions start with better information. To act with confidence, businesses need insights that are accurate, specific, and relevant to their operations. At Weathernews, we combine advanced weather models, a continuously expanding global observation network, and experienced meteorologists to deliver precise, decision-ready intelligence tailored to your needs. With nearly four decades of experience, Weathernews is a global provider of private weather and climate services. We support organisations operating in complex, weather-exposed environments — across maritime, energy, aviation, land-based transport, and other weather-sensitive industries. As climate volatility increases and regulatory pressures evolve, we help businesses anticipate disruption rather than react to it. Technology alone is not enough. Data needs human understanding to unlock real value. While sophisticated AI and modelling systems power our forecasts, it is the expertise of our global team of meteorologists and operational specialists that ensures clarity in complexity. Available 24/7, they refine, interpret, and contextualise information, so your decisions are not just informed, but confident. At Weathernews, we exist to help organisations adapt to an increasingly uncertain climate, protecting performance, enhancing safety, and supporting long-term weather and climate resilience.

How is your team managing increasing demands of quicker decision-making? Next week at Posidonia Events, we’ll be sharing how our recent releases support faster decisions when voyage plans change quickly, and urgent decisions need to move between vessel and shore without delay. That includes everything from voyage planning and overall operations visibility to how onboard and shore-based teams stay aligned as conditions change. If you're at Posidonia 2026, come and say hi at Hall 2 | Booth 2.252 and meet the team: Manos KIOUSIS, Elias J. Makris, Michalis Tsirigotis, Filotas Paschos, Ioannis Sideris & Kostas Papaemmanouil, MICS. #Posidonia2026 #ShippingIndustry #VoyagePlanning #MaritimeTech #WeatherIntelligence #MaritimeIndustry

Our new SeaNavigator app is official. We know that operators are not always sitting in front of a desk or inside a control room. Voyage plans change while you are on the move, conditions evolve quickly, and keeping track of vessels, alerts, and approvals often means switching between multiple systems and conversations. With that in mind, and based on input from many of our existing customers, we’ve developed SeaNavigator Mobile for shore-based operations teams. The app brings voyage plan confirmation, vessel monitoring, and AIS-based alerts into one mobile app, helping your team stay updated on day-to-day voyages wherever they are. Available now on iOS and Android ⬇️ PS: Heading to Posidonia next week? Download SeaNavigator Mobile and stay updated while networking. #ShippingIndustry #MaritimeTech #VoyagePlanning #MaritimeIndustry #WeatherIntelligence #Posidonia2026 #ProductLaunch

In offshore operations, conditions do not always move from workable to unworkable in a straight line. A threshold may briefly be exceeded, while forecast development still suggests the operational window may remain workable. That is where timing, forecast confidence, and operational margin start to matter just as much as the forecast itself. A short look at how Frontier supports the assessment of thresholds, exceedance probability, and operational timing in one operational view. We’re continuing to share daily and weekly maritime weather updates for the Strait of Hormuz and surrounding waters, alongside selected port forecasts available via SeaNavigator Free. This week, intermittent strengthening of northwesterly and westerly winds is expected across parts of the Persian Gulf, with blowing dust and reduced visibility possible near Kuwait and the northern Gulf from May 19 onwards. Localized winds near the Strait of Hormuz and the central/southern Gulf may also strengthen later in the week. Two teams can look at the same forecast and still assess the operational window differently. Not because the forecast is wrong, but because offshore decisions depend on timing, thresholds, operational exposure, and how conditions are expected to evolve over the coming hours. That is part of what Frontier is built to support. A brief look at how Weathernews Inc.'s Frontier helps teams interpret changing conditions in operational context. #OffshoreEnergy #MarineOperations #WeatherIntelligence #EnergyOperations #OffshoreWind #WindEnergy

In offshore operations, weather windows do not always become unworkable suddenly. More often, conditions move gradually closer to operational limits while forecast uncertainty and timing pressure increase at the same time. That is usually where decisions become more difficult. Not because the forecast is unavailable, but because the remaining operational margin becomes harder to assess consistently across teams. This is one of the areas where probabilistic forecasting and threshold-based planning are becoming increasingly important in offshore operations. See how Frontier helps teams evaluate weather windows in a real operational context ⬇️ #OffshoreEnergy #MarineOperations #WeatherIntelligence

With vessel movement in and around the Strait of Hormuz still heavily restricted, weather and marine conditions continue to play an important role in day-to-day operational planning across the region. Over the past weeks, we’ve shared regular updates and made selected forecasts available free of charge via our SeaNavigator platform. Our latest weekly update is now available and includes the current outlook across the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz. This week, the main development is an increased dust storm risk between May 12–13, as a low-pressure system moves into the northern Persian Gulf. Dust-laden conditions and shifting winds are expected particularly around Iraq and the northern Gulf, while dust activity may also develop further south near the Strait of Hormuz. The latest weekly outlook and port forecasts are available on our website ⬇️ #MaritimeOperations #WeatherIntelligence #VoyagePlanning #ShippingIndustry #HormuzStrait #hürmüzboğazı #hormuzweather #MaritimeIndusty

📢 We’ve announced the release of selected vessel and marine data for the Strait of Hormuz and surrounding waters, available free of charge for a limited period. With restricted movement and vessels waiting in confined areas, maintaining safe operations remains critical. In these conditions, strong winds such as the shamal and sudden squalls can increase the risk of drifting, quay contact, or grounding. The data is available via SeaNavigator and includes real-time vessel positions, high-resolution wind and wave forecasts, and port-level forecasts across ~140 locations in the Middle East.
