Progressing down the LNG pathway 🛣️ Whilst MEPC 83 has occupied most of the maritime industry’s focus lately, as the International Maritime Organization builds standards and a regulatory framework for the future, it’s also important to look back at what has been a strong year for the LNG pathway, especially LBM (liquefied biomethane/bio-LNG). Regulators’ balanced approach to LNG is regarded as positive by Titan, although the business case versus other fuels will be slightly impacted, the role of LBM going forward is clearer than ever. The recent ‘View from the Bridge’ Report from SEA-LNG analyses the surge in orders for new vessels that will follow the LNG pathway, and why it is a practical and realistic route to net-zero shipping. The report outlines the positive outlook for LNG and LBM that we’ve helped to deliver, highlighting: -  🔧 Infrastructure ready: The transition from LNG to LBM requires no additional bunkering infrastructure -  📊 One step at a time: You can transition incrementally with different blends -  🟢 Availability: LBM can currently be bunkered in lots of ports around the world -  🌅 Track record: Titan has repeatedly proven major LBM bunkering operations are possible. It’s also great to help lead the conversation at SEA-LNG. Michael Schaap attended his first Members Meeting as an appointed SEA-LNG board member this month in Hamburg, where he led a workshop on LBM with Caspar Gooren. First delivery to K Line under a long-term contract!    On 5th April, Titan supplied LNG to the Pontus Highway vessel at the ICO terminal in Zeebrugge. The Pontus Highway, a 2024-built Pure Car Carrier, is operated by Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd., also known as “K” Line—a leading Japanese shipping company. As part of its commitment to achieving ambitious environmental targets by 2050, “K” Line is actively investing in dual-fuel LNG vessels as an intermediate step towards decarbonisation.    Nicolas Ganas, Senior Trader and Business Development Manager at Titan, commented: “Titan is honoured to play a part in “K” Line’s journey towards achieving its ambitious environmental targets. Titan completes first bunkering to MOL under new term contract 📢 We have completed the first bunkering of a multi-delivery contract with Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. On Sunday, our Alice Cosulich LNG bunkering vessel delivered 500 tons of liquefied biomethane (bio-LNG) and 400 tons of conventional LNG to MOL’s Celeste Ace vehicle carrier in the Port of Zeebrugge. Our Senior Trader and Business Development Manager Nicolas Ganas stated: “We applaud MOL’s commitment to LNG and bio-LNG as marine fuels… this collaboration strengthens our partnership in the region, and we look forward to reliably supplying their vessels with lower carbon fuel solutions.” Adding to this, our Commercial Director of Renewable Fuels Caspar Gooren commented: “This bunkering highlights the growing role of bio-LNG in decarbonising international shipping today… with a global maritime leader like MOL putting its commercial weight behind bio-LNG, this is an exciting time for the clean fuels transition.”   Read more here: https://lnkd.in/dvgMsmTW #ShipsAndShipping #LNG #BioLNG #Bunkering

Permanent truck-to-ship (TTS) license granted for the Port of Le Havre! 🎉 We deployed five trucks in early February to complete this operation for Furetank , one of Titan’s long established seagoing customers, for its vessel Fure Viskaer. While we were already able to offer ship-to-ship (STS) bunkering in the port, we can now officially provide the TTS option too! Although STS LNG transfers have become more popular, we’re committed to offering a wide range of bunkering services to remain flexible to our customers’ needs. Using dedicated infrastructure and accredited delivery protocols also enables us to safely offer multiple truck-to-ship deliveries, allowing trucks to discharge simultaneously. LNG has been safely shipped around the world, handled and bunkered in ports for 60 years with no major incidents. Long-standing customers like Furetank recognise this proven safety track record and, in addition to the emissions, availability and cost advantages of LNG, continue to benefit.
