👩🌾 Recently, SkillLab participated in a 3-day bootcamp at Czech University of Life Sciences Prague as part of the GAEA project. Sylvana Hiltrop and Clara Citra Mutiarasari conducted an onboarding session to introduce the GAEA application to approximately 60 women with a strong interest in careers in agriculture and agribusiness. 📱 The GAEA application is a skills-based tool to support women in their career orientation and skills development in the agriculture sector. The application allows them to reflect on their existing skills and explore agricultural careers and agribusiness courses developed in the GAEA project. The live onboarding session allowed us to assess the short-term impact directly on the ground, and the results made us really proud! 💪 🌱 On average, participants rated their skill awareness higher after using the GAEA application for 30 minutes (from 3.79 to 4.08 on a 5-point Likert scale). 🌱 Participants' career awareness also increased from 3.76 points to 4.04 points. 🌱 There was a 19.65% increase in participants' confidence in knowing what skills they need for the agricultural career they are interested in. 👉 Are you a woman interested in agricultural careers? With the European Commission's recent announcement of the 'Union of Skills', the recent ESF+ meeting in Bologna couldn't have been more timely. The event brought together a selected group of organizations that scale innovations to connect people with jobs and education in Europe. SkillLab, as part of the ESF+ funded SkillsPath project, had the chance to connect with their partners from International Rescue Committee Germany as well as a diverse European group, sparking collaborative ideas for impactful solutions. A deep dive into Bologna's local context, through visits to the Municipality of Bologna and CEFAL Emilia Romagna training center, provided further valuable insights. These connections and learnings are crucial for driving innovation and skills development across the EU.
