Better Air Quality around Airports – Thanks to Satellite Data 🛰️ To support monitoring of the aviation industry, the web application AIR-Portal provides high-resolution air quality insights to airport operators and inspection agencies. Its intuitive user interface integrates into operational processes, enabling easy analysis of air quality trends and comparisons against regulations. AIR-Portal is the final product of Proof of Concept 1 developed by S[&]T as part of the "Copernicus Demonstrators – Mobility and Emergency" project, funded by the EUSPA - EU Agency for the Space Programme and led by OHB Digital Services GmbH. It uses various Copernicus data products in combination with other data sources to map key air quality species – like nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), sulphur dioxide (SO₂), and fine dust (PM2.5, PM10). These impact health and the environment. By combining multiple data sources, the platform generates detailed air quality maps with a much higher resolution than previous tools (down to 100x100 meters). This high-resolution information can be easily used or integrated into existing systems. Built-in analysis tools allow users to track long-term trends and check compliance with air quality regulations. Environmental agencies can use the data for remote monitoring or to identify areas for targeted inspections, while airport operators can detect pollution hotspots or analyse recent periods in more detail. AIR-portal offers several key benefits: ✔️ Intuitive user interface to analyse air quality trends in areas of interest around airports ✔️ Verify pollution levels with various air quality regulations ✔️ High spatial and temporal resolution data for detailed investigations ✔️ Easy to integrate data into operational environment 📍 Want to learn more? Known for our expertise in 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴, ASTRON, the Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy, has trusted us to co-develop the 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗕 sensor. 🚀 Indo-Dutch Space Day 2025 🌍 On tuesday the Netherlands Innovation Network India organized the Indo-Dutch Space Day together with IN-SPACe – an event that brought together stakeholders from both #India and the #Netherlands to explore new avenues for collaboration in the #spacesector. This event was a follow up for the Innovation Mission on Space Technologies that we organized last year from India to the Netherlands. 🇳🇱🇮🇳🤝🏼 The event showcased 10 pitch presentations from selected space companies and had a wide audience from across the sector. With more than 40 companies signing up from both space ecosystems, the Indo-Dutch Space Day gave, as one respondent said, ‘such a wealth of information!’ and marked an important point for the growing partnership between two dynamic nations in advancing space technologies. 💡 🎯 Key Highlights from the Event: ✅ Government Engagement: Both Indian and Dutch government representatives showcased their strategic vision for enhancing international space cooperation. These insights will help foster a supportive environment for cross-border space missions and initiatives. ✅ Business & Commercial Collaboration: A focus was placed on creating valuable business opportunities for space companies, opening doors for joint ventures, collaborations, and knowledge exchange. ESA’s 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 is one of the most ambitious climate research projects ever launched, designed to study how clouds and tiny airborne particles (aerosols) affect sunlight and heat. These elements play a huge role in Earth’s climate, sometimes cooling the planet by reflecting sunlight, other times trapping heat like a blanket. But their impact is complex and hard to predict. To tackle this challenge, EarthCARE needed an 𝘂𝗽𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀, ensuring it could handle the massive amounts of data required for accurate climate research. We worked with European Space Agency - ESA to: ✅ 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗽 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 for quicker climate insights ✅ 𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿 to reduce delays ✅ 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 to handle complex weather forecasts EarthCARE can now deliver high-quality climate data more efficiently, helping scientists improve weather forecasts and climate predictions at a crucial time. 🌎🔬 🔗 Learn more from our business case: https://lnkd.in/ezkgm6Yj #EarthObservation #Innovation #DataProcessing #EarthCARE
