𝐕𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐧 𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐞𝐧 𝐯𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐤𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐭 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐧: 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐰𝐚𝐯𝐞’𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐳𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐣𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐂𝐅𝐎 𝐃𝐚𝐲 𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐧 Vandaag hadden we de eer om kolonel Hans van Dalen, Regimentscommandant Huzaren van Boreel en plaatsvervangend commandant van het Opleidings- en Trainingscommando Koninklijke Landmacht, bij Northwave te verwelkomen. Hans overhandigde persoonlijk exemplaren van het crowdfunded boek “In de Schaduw van Hindu Kush” aan onze president Petra Oldengarm en enkele Afghanistan-veteranen onder onze collega’s. Dit bijzondere boek vertelt de verhalen van Nederlandse veteranen die dienden in Afghanistan en biedt een krachtig perspectief op veerkracht en dienstbaarheid. Onze betrokkenheid bij dit initiatief begon tijdens CFO Day vorig jaar, waar Kolonel van Dalen samen met onze Pascal Renckens CPP, Manager Resilience, op het hoofdpodium stond om CFO’s van de 500 grootste bedrijven in Nederland toe te spreken. Hun gezamenlijke presentatie belichtte de parallellen tussen veerkracht in oorlogstijd en bij cyberdreigingen, en benadrukte de cruciale rol van CFO’s bij het omgaan met verstoringen en het waarborgen van continuïteit. In plaats van een sprekersvergoeding sponsorde Northwave met trots de publicatie en distributie van “In de Schaduw van Hindu Kush”, zodat Nederlandse veteranen een exemplaar van het boek ontvangen. Eerder werden we in 2020 erkend als Reservistenwerkgever van het Jaar, een bewijs van onze voortdurende steun aan collega’s die als reservist dienen. Hun toewijding aan publieke veiligheid sluit naadloos aan bij onze kernwaarden: verantwoordelijkheid en betrouwbaarheid. Bij Northwave geloven we dat cybersecurity essentieel is om onze samenleving te beschermen tegen bedreigingen voor veiligheid en democratie. Door veteranen en reservisten te steunen, eren we niet alleen hun dienstbaarheid, maar versterken we ook onze inzet voor veerkracht – zowel digitaal als daarbuiten. 🚨 Threat Response – NPM Supply chain compromise 'Shai-hulud' On 15 September 2025, several security researchers discovered a self-replicating worm on the npm open-source registry, named ‘Shai-hulud’. Infected versions include a self-propagating mechanism that primarily targets other packages by the same maintainer, focusing on stealing and exfiltrating secrets, credentials, and tokens embedded within those packages. We’ve sent out a Threat Response for this on 17 September 2025. On 24 November 2025 a second strike occurred with an upgraded version of the attack, which infects considerably more npm packages than in the first wave. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/em8hS7cF
