  • Last week, our Europol Analysis Training team trained intelligence analysts from the #RomanianPolice during the Operational #IntelligenceAnalysis Training course. 📊 Investing in analytics capability means strengthening investigations, strengthening cooperation, and ultimately strengthening public safety. Criminal intelligence is the backbone of effective law enforcement. Without quality data, investigations stall. And without skilled analysts, even the best information won’t produce results. 📺 Watch their highlight video: https://lnkd.in/eTijarwk

  • This week, the J-CAT Board Members met in Stockholm for the annual J-CAT Board Meeting, setting the operational priorities, strategic direction, and workflow for the taskforce for 2026. The meeting, co-organised by Europol's Cybercrime Center (EC3) and the Swedish Police Authority, focused on strengthening our collective ability to facilitate high-profile investigations with one shared goal: combating cybercrime. The meeting was followed by a dedicated Roadshow, during which EC3 and J-CAT members met with representatives from the Swedish Police Authority and the Swedish Prosecution Authority, sharing expertise on supporting high-profile investigations. 🤝 Working together for a safer digital world.

  • 🚨 In two major operations this month, Europol worked with France, Spain, Italy, and Romania to disrupt #HumanTrafficking networks. These operations resulted in 29 arrests, the safeguarding of victims, and the seizure of substantial assets. 1️⃣ The first operation, conducted jointly by France and Spain, targeted a Chinese organised crime group involved in trafficking human beings for sexual exploitation. The network, active for several years, coordinated sexual exploitation rings across multiple EU Member States. 2️⃣ The second operation, conducted jointly by Italy and Romania, targeted a Romanian family clan involved in exploiting young girls through coercion, violence, and psychological manipulation. Read about the details the operations in our press release ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eyjp9Q65 ♟️ Human trafficking is a serious crime that abuses people’s fundamental rights and dignity. It is often transnational in character, and its victims are of both genders, all ages, and backgrounds.

  • As #BlackFriday approaches, our new report, 'Cheating the Toy World', reveals a worrying trend. Criminal networks are becoming increasingly sophisticated at counterfeiting toys. ⚠️ In the rush for the best shopping deals, it’s easy to miss the warning signs. A counterfeit toy can expose children to serious safety risks, including hazardous and even toxic materials. 🧸 Do you know how to spot fake or unsafe toys? Our prevention guide breaks down the key signs to look out for: https://lnkd.in/e3YGHvng Or explore the 𝐶ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑇𝑜𝑦 𝑊𝑜𝑟𝑙𝑑 report to read how counterfeit toys form part of a broader criminal economy in the EU: https://lnkd.in/e3xTTJft

  • 🚨 In a significant success for consumer safety and intellectual property rights, 26 countries coordinated by Europol have seized 16.6 million packages of fake and harmful toys worth EUR 36.8 million. Operations LUDUS IV and V aimed to take down producers and importers of counterfeit toys and saw 555 persons reported to judicial and health authorities. 🧸 Counterfeit toys pose serious health risks to children and cause substantial economic losses to the EU. With the holiday season approaching, it is crucial for consumers to be vigilant and purchase toys from reputable retailers. The global toy market, valued at up to EUR 300 billion annually, remains the second-most counterfeited industry globally. Europol, along with the EUIPO - European Union Intellectual Property Office and European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) has demonstrated the importance of coordinated law enforcement action and cross-sector collaboration. Together, we can protect consumers, support legitimate businesses, and foster a sustainable IP ecosystem. More details in our press release ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eHw_ffmC
