DuckDB 1.4.4 LTS is out: https://lnkd.in/eKr24-Pn We hope that this release irons out most of the critical bugs that you encountered in the v1.4 line – but rest assured that we plan to release at least one more patch release (v1.4.5) later this year. And we are very much looking forward to the release of v1.5.0 next month. PS: The last time we had a “.4” patch release was in 2022 for version 0.3.4! Of course, the project was at a very different stage then.

DuckDB now supports reading from and writing to the Vortex file format! The DuckDB Labs and SpiralDB teams have worked together to make Vortex available as a core extension in DuckDB. Vortex is an open source, columnar file format whose design is heavily influenced by recent research in lightweight compression encodings, computing and IO techniques.
