Last week in Amsterdam, key players from across the Power-to-X ecosystem came together to tackle a shared challenge: how to turn ambition around circular e-fuels and chemicals into a coordinated national roadmap, and shape the future of the Dutch Power-to-X value chain. A few key themes stood out across the discussions: 𝗠𝗼𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿: Even in the most progressive electrification scenarios, roughly 30% of energy demand must still be met by molecules. Power-to-X is critical because it converts renewable electricity into these essential clean molecules. 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽: The Netherlands has traditionally served as Europe's energy gateway. As we shift toward renewables, Power-to-X offers a unique opportunity to maintain this leadership by becoming a hub for clean, sustainable molecules and e-fuels. 𝗔 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: Establishing our position requires system-based investment strategies with a focus on return on innovation. We must prioritize funding demonstration projects and pilots, and large-scale infrastructure investments, combining public and private capital to build a bankable, resilient supply chain. While the shift to carbon-neutral e-fuels is a clear pathway for hard-to-abate sectors, we must move beyond dialogue and define policy and financial frameworks required for a reliable value chain. 𝗢𝗻 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟵, Skytree is hosting a Power-to-X Symposium in Amsterdam. This invite-only event follows a collaborative approach featuring working sessions to establish the Netherlands as a global leader in green chemicals and energy. Participants will work together to co-author a white paper that serves as a roadmap for the Dutch e-fuel ecosystem. 𝗢𝗻𝘇𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗳𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗪𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗸 📈 Het Rapport Wennink, gepubliceerd op 12 december, benadrukt dat nú investeren in een duurzame economie noodzakelijk is. Waterstof speelt daarin een sleutelrol. Vanmorgen was ik bij de presentatie van het onafhankelijke advies van Peter Wennink over het toekomstig #verdienvermogen van ons land. Het Rapport Wennink stelt dat er €151-187 miljard aan gerichte strategische investeringen nodig zijn tot 2035 om onze brede welvaart te behouden en geeft randvoorwaarden voor bedrijven om succesvol in #Nederland te kunnen zijn. In het rapport wordt al €126 miljard in 51 investeringsplannen aanbevolen waarin de #TechChampions ook vertegenwoordigd zijn.   TechChampion Battolyser Systems heeft samen met VDL Groep, HyCC en GroenvermogenNL een voorstel ingediend voor de ontwikkeling van een toeleveringsketen voor volledig flexibele electrolysers voor industriële toepassingen die wind op zee meer rendabel kan maken zonder additionele netwerkcongestie. 4 December I attended the #RenewableHydrogenSummit2025. Here are my key takeaways: - #Europe imports EUR 450bln in fossils fuel per year. We have to develop more renewable energy to improve our #energysecurity for which system integration (incl. flexible #hydrogen production) is key - European money should go to European companies only, we should build European #valuechains - EUR 38bln for H2 projects and >150bln for decarbonisation projects including hydrogen, a 5x increase on the MFF budget for energy (VP Jorgensen) In summary, we need to stay the course.. bring cost down, implement regulations (e.g. RED3) and develop European value chains to ensure secure competitive and net zero energy system in the long run. https://lnkd.in/ewJTy2Yg

Tomorrow we hold general elections in The Netherlands, and although the Dutch economy is seemingly doing well many signs are on red for our future #competitiveness. We are enjoying investments made a long time ago and really need to invest in our future earning capacity to make sure we can upkeep our standard of living. #Technologyinnovation is essential for economic growth, for which technology #scaleups are critical. However, our #economy is still organized for large corporates that will not provide our future prosperity. Technology scaleups can grow into new ASMLs and support our future welfare, but they need less bureaucracy more capital and above all speed. #Vote for the future, vote for technology innovation! https://lnkd.in/ePijgSg6
