  • Anthropic is closing in on a $1 trillion valuation after raising $65 billion in a new Series H funding round, marking one of the largest capital raises in AI history and pushing the Claude maker ahead of OpenAI in valuation rankings. The round was led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital, with participation from major investors including Samsung, Micron, SK Hynix, Coatue, and ICONIQ. Anthropic says the funding will support AI research, product expansion, and the massive compute infrastructure required to train and deploy its models. The company’s valuation reportedly jumped from about $380 billion earlier this year to $965 billion post-money, reflecting growing investor confidence in enterprise AI, large language models, and the companies controlling core AI infrastructure. Anthropic’s rapid growth has been fueled by rising demand for Claude and its AI coding products, as businesses increasingly look for alternatives within the fast-expanding generative AI market. • Africa Jobs Fund (AJF), a new philanthropic investment initiative led by Wasoko founder Daniel Yu, has launched with plans to mobilise $100 million toward creating high-productivity jobs across Sub-Saharan Africa. The fund will focus on two major pathways considered critical for large-scale poverty reduction: export manufacturing and international labour mobility. According to AJF, the initiative aims to generate more than $50 billion in income gains for African workers while helping at least 250,000 low-income people more than double their lifetime earnings. Housed under Renaissance Philanthropy, the fund plans to back commercially viable pioneer companies capable of creating jobs at scale. Senior advisors to the initiative include Iyinoluwa Aboyeji, co-founder of Andela and Flutterwave, alongside former USAID Administrator Samantha Power. Daniel Yu said the initiative is focused on solving what he described as Africa’s core development challenge: access to stable, high-income jobs for millions of working-age people currently trapped in subsistence agriculture and informal labour. Africa’s creator economy is evolving rapidly, and AdMinting LTD is positioning itself as one of the emerging platforms helping brands move beyond traditional influencer marketing toward measurable, creator-led growth. Founded by Prisca Amaefule (MBA), the startup is building a performance-focused creator marketing ecosystem that enables businesses to run, manage, track, and scale campaigns based on real outcomes such as clicks, installs, leads, and conversions. As digital commerce and community-driven recommendations continue gaining traction across Africa, brands are increasingly demanding transparency, accountability, and stronger ROI from creator campaigns. AdMinting says its platform helps brands identify creators based on engagement quality, audience behaviour, niche relevance, and conversion potential rather than follower counts alone.
