Raising leaders, transforming Africa

About us

For over 22 years, Leadership, Effectiveness, Accountability, and Professionalism (LEAP) Africa has stayed true to its mission to equip a new cadre of African leaders. LEAP Africa achieves this through its interventions for young people, that bridge the gap in leadership, education, employability and entrepreneurship. As a mission-driven organization, we recognize that youth leadership and inclusion is critical to nation-building and wealth creation. Our cutting-edge programmatic thrusts inspire and equip young people, changing their mindset, to lead ethically and motivate them to deliver positive change in their communities; while also supporting social entrepreneurs to build systems and structures crucial for business sustainability, thereby contributing to livelihoods, and social and national development.

From Lagos to across West Africa, employers showed up with one goal: to build stronger teams and invest in the future of work. Our Employer Onboarding Session for the Mastercard Foundation Associates Programme brought together organisations physically in Lagos and virtually from Nigeria, Sierra Leone, The Gambia, Ghana, and Liberia. During the session, employers gained a clear understanding of the programme, including how the Associate placement model works, what is expected from host organisations, and how the programme supports onboarding, engagement, and successful placements. More importantly, they explored how to access trained, work-ready young professionals while reducing hiring and onboarding effort within their organisations. Beyond the presentations, the session created space for meaningful conversations, practical questions, and real alignment on how employers can confidently participate and make the most of the opportunity. If your organisation is looking to strengthen its talent pipeline while contributing to youth employment, you can still be part of the programme. Thank you! When Ayodele Oluwaropo FIMC, CMC, President Cranfield Africa Impact Summit Society at Cranfield University reached out I found the vision compelling. The Society was founded to advance Africa’s sustainable transformation by fostering collaboration between academia, industry, policymakers, and entrepreneurs, with a focus on impact investment, innovation, and knowledge exchange. Every opportunity to support Africans (living in Africa or diaspora), passion and the Africa's development is always an opportunity to bring to the forefront our wins, progress, new perspectives and most certainly widening gaps.

Speaker Announcement!!!!! Africa is the youngest continent in the world. By 2050, one in four people globally will be African. But the real question is: How do we ensure Africa’s young population becomes its greatest economic advantage rather than an untapped opportunity? At the Cranfield Africa Impact Summit, we will explore this critical question in the panel session: “From Policy to Execution: Innovation, Skills, and Africa’s Young Workforce.” We are delighted to welcome Kehinde Ayeni, Executive Director of LEAP Africa, as a panellist. Kehinde Ayeni leads LEAP Africa, a nonprofit organisation nurturing young African leaders and advancing sustainable development across the continent. Under her leadership, LEAP Africa delivers high-impact programmes across more than 30 African countries, reaching thousands of young people annually through its core focus areas and strategic pillars. Kehinde brings nearly 20 years of experience in the social impact sector, with a strong track record in strategy execution, organisational leadership, business development, operations, and corporate communications. She has held senior leadership roles, including Chief Operating Officer and Head of Communications and PR, where she has helped build an agile organisation, strengthened brand influence, and unlocked strategic opportunities that enable long-term socio-economic transformation. Her work is grounded in a deep belief in African youth’s agency and resilience as transformative change drivers. Kehinde holds postgraduate degrees and professional certifications from Lagos Business School, IESE Business School, and Pan-Atlantic University, and is a 2021 Fellow of the Praxis Nonprofit Accelerator Program. At the summit, Kehinde will join other experts to discuss how policy, innovation, and skills development can translate into real opportunities for Africa’s growing youth population. 📅 Friday, 8 May 2026 📍 Vincent Auditorium, Cranfield University, UK If you care about the future of Africa’s workforce, youth employment, and innovation-driven development, this is a conversation you should not miss. • What happens when bold women, visionary leaders, and powerful allies gather in one room? Magic! And that's exactly what happened at the International Women's Day Celebration hosted by Digital African Woman- DAW From inspiring keynotes to thought-provoking panels, this event was a masterclass in leadership, innovation, and impact. We heard from incredible voices: - Eniola Fadayomi on Innovation & Economic Power - Bunmi Akinyemiju on Patterns of Success - Toke Makinwa Makinwa on owning your narrative, visibility, and media influence The conversations didn’t stop there. A powerful fireside chat on Men Championing Women, moderated by Lolita Ejiofor MBA, featuring Rex Mafiana, Pieter Leenknegt, and Francis Sani O., reminding us that advancing women is everyone’s responsibility. Insightful panels that tackled: • Leadership, Policy & Inclusive Innovation (moderated by Diana Amabelle Nwakanma) • Women in Business, Entrepreneurship & Technology (moderated by Ferdinand Eruka) • “The Queens Panel”(moderated by Olawale Ajiboye) Each session, each speaker, each moment reinforced one truth: When women are empowered, entire ecosystems thrive. The event closed with remarks from our executive director, Kehinde Ayeni, reinforcing the importance of sustained action in advancing women’s empowerment across Africa. This wasn’t just an event. It was a movement. #womeninleadership #leapafrica #africanwomen #leadershipcoaching #innovations #ᴡᴏᴍᴇɴᴇᴍᴘᴏᴡᴇʀᴍᴇɴᴛ #inclusivegrowth
