We asked Lois Igberaese about her journey from a Customer Success Associate to an HR Generalist since joining Busha. “My journey started in 2021 as a Customer Success Associate, I remember thinking: "This was the most seamless hiring process I’ve ever experienced." A year later, I was promoted to Customer Success Supervisor; my first formal leadership role. I was both excited and nervous, because the closest thing I had to a leadership experience was taking care of my younger siblings. After three years in Customer Success, I realized I had a bigger passion for creating positive experiences for people. This led me to take up interest in Human Resources. In January 2025, I reached out to the Head of HR for guidance, and was told that a transition was possible. I immediately began taking courses to prepare. A few months later, I officially joined the HR team as a People Experience & Culture Officer.” Her dedication paid off quickly: “Less than a year in, I won Employee of the Year for the People Ops department. That moment felt incredibly rewarding and it reminded me that taking the leap into something new was absolutely worth it. In March 2026, I stepped into a broader role as an HR Generalist. Looking back, I find the speed of my transition surreal, given that I was just figuring out how to make the move a year prior. Now, I am passionate about building an intentional, people-first culture where employees feel seen, supported, and set up for success."
