    As the Artemis II mission prepares for launch, a new chapter in human space exploration is taking shape.   A crewed mission of four astronauts, aboard the Orion spacecraft, will fly around our natural satellite, marking a decisive step towards humanity’s return to the Moon.   The Artemis program, developed by NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration in partnership with the European Space Agency - ESA, sees Italy among the key contributors, with a central role played by the Italian Space Agency (Agenzia Spaziale Italiana). Leonardo, together with the joint ventures Telespazio and Thales Alenia Space, is supporting the mission through strategic technologies.   #StayTuned

    IDV, a Leonardo company, has inaugurated its new production line dedicated to the LMV-BR 2 4x4 multirole vehicle at its facility in Sete Lagoas, Minas Gerais.   The first units produced on this line will fulfil the contract signed with the Brazilian Army for the delivery of 420 LMV-BR 2 vehicles. Based on IDV’s proven LMV platform, the LMV‑BR 2 was developed to enhance mobility, protection, and versatility for troops deployed in diverse missions, improving operational efficiency in challenging scenarios. The inauguration was attended by Generals from the Brazilian Army’s High Command, who reviewed the new facility and the company’s industrial capabilities.     We recently had the honour of welcoming the Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, H.E. Nguyen Chi Dung, who was received by #Leonardo Chairman Stefano Pontecorvo and Leonardo Co-General Manager Carlo Gualdaroni. The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to further strengthen the partnership between Leonardo and Vietnam, underscoring the Group’s long-term commitment to the country. In line with Vietnam’s strong focus on advancing science, technology and high-tech industries, discussions centered on enhancing cooperation in technological innovation and digital transformation. This engagement builds on Leonardo’s enhanced presence in the region, including the opening of a dedicated office in Hanoi in January 2025. The opening of this new location marked another step in strengthening Leonardo's presence in Asia, aimed at intensifying collaboration with local partners and stakeholders, fostering the development of innovative technological opportunities, and delivering tangible and impactful support for the country's growth strategy.

    Shape the future of autonomous navigation with #Leonardo’s Drone Contest X!   The challenge, now part of #SolversWanted - the Group’s innovation platform -, is open to universities, startups, spin-offs, research centres and innovative companies ready to push the boundaries of next generation autonomous drones without satellite navigation.   Drone Contest X focuses on solutions with an intermediate level of technological maturity, where participants demonstrate how #UAVs can operate autonomously without #GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems), leveraging technologies such as #artificialintelligence, visual navigation and #sensor fusion. The finalist teams will compete in an outdoor delivery test, completing a fully autonomous mission in a real-world environment, with a co-development contract of up to €100,000 and access to the Group’s technological infrastructure and industrial expertise.
