Avionics Workshop - This workshop aims to foster collaboration between aerospace and E&E sectors, with a focus on enhancing local capabilities in avionics. We had an amazing turnout at our recent Industrial Tech Talk Session, where we explored the global semiconductor design landscape with our distinguished guests from Brazil –Hamilton Mendes da Silva, Director of Semiconductors, Brazilian Ministry of Science and Technology, Augusto Almeida and Matheus Souza Santos, ChipInventor. Participants also enjoyed a highly interactive session featuring hands-on demos of electronic design automation (EDA) tools and prototyping, experiencing firsthand how ChipInventor streamlines the journey from concept to chip fabrication. Jaffri is the founder and CEO of Collaborative Research in Engineering, Science and Technology (CREST). He began his career as an entrepreneur who built an information service in Klang Valley in 1986. He later joined Oracle Corporation Malaysia in 1990 as a consultant in the professional services organization. He started his own technology consulting business in 1994, focusing on the Oil & Gas industry. Jaffri rejoined Oracle Corporation as Managing Consultant at the onset of Malaysia’s MSC program. He later joined Arthur Andersen's Business Consulting division in 1998 and then the Technology Consulting and Technology Integration Services group at Cap Gemini, Ernst & Young in 2002. Prior to joining CREST, he was Vice President of the Business and Technology Advisory Division of Malaysia Debt Ventures (MDV) Bhd., a Venture Debt company under the Minister of Finance, Inc., that facilitates the development of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Biotechnology, Green Technology, and other emerging technology sectors via innovative financing. Jaffri was also featured in Digerati 2016 and is on the Board of Trustees of Steinbeis Foundation Malaysia. Jaffri obtained his B.Sc. from the University of Iowa, Iowa City, USA where he majored in Computer Science and minored in Business Studies.
