As systems become more integrated, DeFi starts to be evaluated less like software and more like financial infrastructure. Institutions require different standards. In the Forbes piece, Nicholas Motz, CIO at SOIL and CEO of ORQO, highlighted the issue clearly: “When apps integrate, risks compound.” For institutional allocators, the concern is not simply whether a product looks efficient in normal conditions. The real question is whether the system remains functional when markets are moving fast and liquidity becomes stressed. As Nick also noted: “If you cannot liquidate a position during a crash because the system froze, it doesn’t matter how transparent the governance is.
