About the Filmmakers

Caitlin Mjelde

Caitlin Mjelde is a certified professional coach specializing in religious deconstruction, mindset, and recovery from religious trauma. She spent fifteen years inside evangelical Christianity before walking away entirely. After four involuntary psychiatric hospitalizations and seven misdiagnoses, she realized the connection between her religious background and her mental health crisis was not a coincidence.

She built and sold a multimillion-dollar company, founded Conscious Rebels Network, and has built a combined social media following of over 475,000 people through her work in the deconstruction space. Mental Hell is her first feature film.

Adam Stielstra

Adam Stielstra is an award-winning filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist with over 25 years of experience creating films and campaigns for nonprofits, cultural leaders, and national organizations. He is a co-creator of the influential NOOMA film series with Rob Bell, a groundbreaking body of work that reached millions and helped redefine short-form storytelling. His work has received multiple honors including Platinum Telly Awards, a Communicator Award, MarCom recognition, and an Emmy nomination. Mental Hell is his latest project.
