Minor scratches is fine aslong as it's not on the screen otherwise it should still have Manufacturer Warranty if you have the receipt.

I see a used version of this phone selling for 800, it costs 1.1K USD in my part for the base version. Is the 200 dollars worth taking a used risk? and what would you check on the used version.

that's the common thinking.
because people used to have 4GB of internal memory before on their smartphone,
which wasn't enough for even the simple apps to be updated, so SD memory cards helped in these times, but...
people find out that even with the SD memory card their phone still needs internal phone's memory for installs.
SD memory card is slow indeed, and it always has been, but for storing and watching multimedia it doesn't have to be fast at all.
It has to be fast only for installing the apps.
UFS memory standards like 3.1, 4.0, 4.1 or the latest 5.0 are far superior than any SD memory card has, but SD memory card is a removable mobile memory.
It's not meant to be compared with the internal memory.
That's like comparing laptop and desktop pc. They both can compute, but that doesn't mean they should be compared like they offer the same.
SD memory card can be swapped really easily and insert in any other device that supports it.
It can be useful for some.

IMO, the Xiaomi 17 and Vivo X300 are the best compact phones right now. I've used the Xiaomi 17, and it was amazing in all aspects

Once your Xiaomi 15 begins to run into problems (like the software is outdated) you could switch to a newer phone. But unless you're able to trade in and get a discount go for it then. But you still got a couple years on your phone before the software is eventually outdated

The stock camera app on this device tend to overexpose skin, so human subjects are quite pale on photos. Is there any way to normalize skin tones on photos, do I need to use some special parameters?
I'm running global version of the phone, if that matters.
