Well it is 256 GB of storage. Usually it's UFS. eMMC tops out at 128 GB, mostly.

I'd expect it to naturally use eMMC 5.1, as most phones in similar price points avoid using UFS.

Obviously it will. Most OEMs cannot optimise for low-end devices properly (and some like Samsung can't even do it for their flagships), and right now there's no information on whether it's using eMMC 5.1 or UFS 2.2.
