Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 debuts with an upgraded chipset

After months of leaks and rumors, Samsung finally unveiled its latest Galaxy Z foldables, including the new Galaxy Z Flip8, at an Unpacked event in London. Samsung’s newest clamshell foldable brings a new chipset and improved software with OneUI 9.

The Galaxy Z Flip8 looks identical to its predecessor in terms of design, but is now powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy in the US and an Exynos 2600 chipset in other regions.

The display specs also remain the same as the Galaxy Z Flip7. The new clamshell foldable sports a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display on the inside that offers a 120Hz refresh rate and a Full-HD+ resolution.

It gets a 4.1-inch cover display, which is also of the AMOLED type, and supports up to 120Hz refresh rate.

For photography, there’s a 50MP main rear camera with OIS, paired with a 12MP ultrawide unit. As for selfies, there’s a 10MP camera available on the internal display.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 packs a 4,300mAh battery, same as last year. It supports 25W wired and 15W wireless charging.

In terms of software and connectivity, the foldable runs Android 17-based One UI 9 and offers new Galaxy AI-powered FlexWindow features including Now Brief on the cover screen.

As for connectivity, the Galaxy Z Flip8 offers 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, and NFC. The foldable also carries an IP48 dust and water resistance rating.


It is available in 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB variants in Cream, Graphite, and Pink color options. There’s also a Mint variant of the phone that will be available exclusively at the Samsung online store.

Ten years ago, Samsung's two flagships where the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge. Please elaborate for me how those two are similar in any way to the Galaxy Z Flip8?

That's the reason S10 was my last Samsung device. Disgusting company.
