"Expensive at start" - Oppo's are expensive from the beginning to the very end, they don't seem to drop in price as Samsungs do.

If you prefer the X10, that's fine with me. I still think S26U is the better phone, especially at $300 less, even though I wouldn't buy one myself.

512GB version of X10 costs 1400EUR currently in Germany, same as X9 Ultra 512GB. If I was to spend 1400 on a phone, I would just get the X9 Ultra.
X10 just doesn't make much sense at its current price, even within the oppo's lineup.

I'd rather have an upgraded telephoto system + larger battery than simply upgrading chipset and finish (Galaxy S26)

Have you even played with both phones in real life? I bet not, and it's clear you have just formed your opinion based on online chatter.

I have no idea why Oppo does this, but it's an extremely stupid limitation IMO.

I find the dynamic range on JPEG pretty good in most situations, but whenever I need the most extreme dynamic range, I just shoot in RAW Max because it's just so good at recovering highlights.

I guess thats fair enough. Wait, secret payment? I remember they seemed to do so with Reno15.

Pumpino, 17 hours agoGoogle's over-processing keeps the colours realistic. This is why Oppo has a Master Mode, which you can also set as the default mode for the camera app. Google's image processing is very good at reproducing pleasant skin tones, but other than that you can definitely tell that it's applying a lot of tone mapping and contrast to its final images.

Their high confidence is expressed by how they set the price including RAM shortage factor. I bet you know what to do when you find something outside your requirements. That's it.

A good phone but way to expensive!

Android Dwarfs iOS, 31 Oct 2026Mi 17 Ultra? Sure! But the S26 Ultra is not better than this. Let's agree to disagree.

In any case, given the price difference, X10 wouldn't be the first choice.

It's still part of my previous comment.

Just go with the Pro Max for sure. Don't think twice I beg you. If you aren't sure just go back to the review. None appear to be deal breaker. It is a perfect package as well as cost saving to the Ultra.

This phone is underpowered for the price you pay. If it were to be under £800, it wouldn’t be as big of a deal. But it’s nearly twice that.
