Anonymous, 10 Oct 2026Has 2000mah more battery than Fold 8 Ultra but scores only ... moreIt’s just a test! it’s not real usage. In real use, the vivo will have more use than what you say, no matter how much you rely on the software, it doesn't do magic.

SMESH, 13 Oct 2026That's simply not true. Camera is the most important, ... more I didn't say it was bad. Just talked about the lack of progress. Foldables had hardware as good with sensors as large a few years ago for a lot lower price. With improvements in battery tech I've no doubt they can fot better hardware in but they don't bother because they think they can get away with it in foldables. This is not specific to Vivo but also to all other brands. If this is the beat available it's disappointing considering the price. Vivo already has better sensors they can use and can fit in the phone e.g. the new Sony 64mp sensor in the x500

Aierlan, 06 Oct 2026A 4.6 rating is kind of ridiculously high for this. Average... moreThat's simply not true. Camera is the most important, if not even the single important aspect for me. I owned both the OPO and the Xfold3Pro, both incredible phones with incredible cameras as far as foldables could do. This mid-year, I wanted to replace it with a better camera one, and I got the Razr Fold (not least because of the review here) – which turned out to be the worse phone with a camera better in some, worse in other aspects compared to the 3Pro, but worse overall. So I just sticked with Vivo and got the Fold6 when it was brand-new, only having the X300 reviews. I am by no means disappointed and consider the Fold6 the best camera foldable available! Real world experience beats technical details (where Razr was the king).

higher weight than its predecessor.. for me that's a move in the wrong direction. Get these things under 200 grams with decent battery life and I am in the market for one.

It's the best foldable ever, but I can't understand how much the camera has improved from vivo X Fold 3 Pro (it's better than X Fold 5). There are no direct cameras comparisons...

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2026You think Vivo builds the "super car?"
Have ... moreWe're talking about the battery optimization lol
You're complaining the battery is not optimized yet it beats your "optimized" anyway.
And I yes I did use it, in fact using the X300 Ultra currently. OriginOS is not the best but not bad. Battery is awesome. Cameras surreal. Oppo does have a better OS to be fair, but can't match Vivo's cameras in 90% of situations.

Have you used Origin OS? The only OS it's better than is Hyper OS. If you want a Chinese foldable. Go with Oppo N6. Better all around.

By the way this has to be the weirdest camera review you have ever done.
"The combination of exposure, dynamic range and tone curve is rubbing us the wrong way, with images looking desaturated, flat, and overexposed"
Overexposed yes, but how is THAT flat? HDR is what makes the photo look flat because it compresses highlights and shadows. These default photos look super nice with natural camera-like contrast.
"The 'Vivid' mode's colors stay true to the profile's name... This should be an easy pick for a default color profile."
I'm sorry but this was very disappointing to see from you. Not only do you barely ever go into different modes in your reviews and just shoot at default settings, now you decided to intentionally switch to a non-default, more overprocessed profile and cripple the quality, for the sake of stronger HDR and flatter lighting.
"maybe keep a more universally likeable one as the default"
How is Vivid a more universally likeable one, when in fact users and reviewers together criticize it for being overprocessed - high sharpening with oversaturated and unrealistic colors? The camera app on vivo is incredibly powerful, with insane number of options and tweaks (tons of different profiles, adjustments for lighting, color, even sharpening), yet you decide to go backwards and use the worst possible profile with no other adjustment. If you switched to zeiss natural it would have been perfectly great, but vivid? Awful decision. And why didn't you show a single human close up in default mode???
If they would have just tweaked the default settings a bit for a touch higher saturation and 1/3 stop lower exposure I'd be all for them putting refined as the default profile in all their phones.

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2026Classic Vivo inefficiency. They get dominated by Samsung, ... moreOk, and? Updates can improve that efficiency and the difference can only grow. You have some other tests (of other ultra flagships) which show a larger difference, up to 20-30% better battery life on vivo vs samsung.
It's funny though, you're boasting about your Hyundai's fuel efficiency vs a supercar. It's not the flex you think it is.

Has 2000mah more battery than Fold 8 Ultra but scores only 1.5 hours more.
That's 40% more capacity giving 15% better battery life.

jiyen235, 08 Oct 2026his fav is vivo, easily
but what he loves most is dunkin... moreVivo isn't my favorite and neither do I have any Vivo products in my family. Appreciating good things about a certain smartphone brand doesn't mean it's my favorite.
My wife uses the Xiaomi 17 Pro, daughter uses the OnePlus 13, son uses IQOO 15 and I'm using Honor Magic V5.
Apple gives enough reasons for me to call out their overrated products. Why should I praise something that isn't that good?
That's what paid reviewers do.
And Why would I hate Samsung? The S26 Ultra deserved the bashing for essentially launching the same phone 5 years in a row with new chipset each year.
I'm actually planning to buy the Tab S12 Ultra.
Go figure!
