Huawei Fanboy, 28 Jul 2026Why don't huawei just use their Kirin 9030 pro here? W... moreIt might be pricey now but last year late year sales Huawei drop their Pura 80 ultra price to half and I think that would happen again and that's a good reason for me to buy this phone

adsubzero, 28 Jul 2026Ok so I didn't realize there were 2 versions - the 90s... moreI wouldn't get it but the pricing is very competitive. The Pura 80 ultra started at 10000rmb in China and the Pura 90 pro max starts at 6499rmb which is cheaper than the Huawei Pura 80 pro+ which started at 7499 and that is kind of the previous model closest to this. The Oppo find x9 ultra starts at 7999rmb for comparison. Basically it's cheaper than the equivalent model last year and that is when all other Chinses brands have significantly increased prices

IpsDisplay, 28 Jul 2026Well I mean they need every penny to deal with sanctions ag... moreThat doesn't give them the right to con people with overpriced inferior devices. Samsung doesn't need an excuse. They sell a fully functional flagahip grade phones out of the box that work flawlessly with everything everywhere. Huawei has a 10% better camera but, lacks in every other department by far.

The image quality is decent, it looks good and all, but the CPU performance is 3x slower, respectively the GPU is 6x slower compared to the completion; not to mention the CPU throttles to under 50% after only 2 minutes of use.
Those are not mid range numbers, but ultra low budget ones. The final score is way to high for the performance offered!

Another greedy year for huawei as they still try to sell a $500 device for $1000. What a scam.

Aierlan, 27 Jul 2026That's incorrect. Both of Vivo and Oppo's Chinese... moreOk so I didn't realize there were 2 versions - the 90s Pro Max, which is supposedly global and 90 Pro Max, which is the chinese version. I've checked a few of the most popular (reputable) online retailers which ship globally and two of them have the Huawei available.
Giztop:
Huawei Pura 90 Pro Max - €1,049.72
Vivo X300 Ultra - €962.17
Wondamobile:
HUAWEI Pura 90 Pro Max - €979,97
Vivo X300 Ultra 5G - €1.050,67
So I guess they're comparable in pricing. But still, worse hardware on Huawei and it's got no GMS at all, while these others at least have partial GMS so you can have the play store and most of the services working practically out of the box. It may not matter to you and these chinese bots which keep glazing them, but it matters to EU and NA users.
IDK but to me Pura 90/90s Pro Max is not nearly worth this much money. I seriously don't see why anyone would want to buy it... Why would you look at it over the Pura 80 Ultra? And why would you even consider that vs Oppo X8 Ultra for example which is now discounted to about 750E and even being last years phone it's still better than Huawei?

Well until the night photos. They are a little more aligned with the over processing mess of the rest of most common devices.

Impressed. The images are probably some of the least hot garbage looking ones I've seen from any device on here in a long time. In comparison to most other devices today the textures are decently rendered.
Even the grass, foliage, and further away subjects look useable. And don't look like a complete artificial mess. Not horrendously over sharpened or completely underwhelming.

Why don't huawei just use their Kirin 9030 pro here? Why use a downgraded version for their 2026 most expensive flagship? (same performance as Pura 70 Ultra)
Huawei's greed is too much
1. Expensive
2. Worse chipset
3. Boring software + no updates
4. No Google
5. Nothing innovative / significantly new
There is really no reason to get a Huawei phone unless you want a no Google life

Wow for Geekbench 6 both lost to Pura 70 Ultra which is the first Kirin self developed chip sold outside of China.
