Nah, half baked "wide" with only 13:10 screen ratio and cut down cameras, but still almost as expensive as the Fold8 Ultra!
I prefer the 16:10 ratio of the Huawei Pura X, or even the Pura X Max is 14.2:10 ratio with much better cameras than the Fold8 wide from Samsung.

I've just bought one because let's be honest, short of NEVER having a moment to charge your phone while still literally using it ALL DAY then you wouldn't have an issue with the battery size. I'm not going to have any issue with using it no matter how much people pretend and exaggerate. I have the Fold 5 at the moment with slower charging and lower battery and it's been perfectly fine.
It's basically got an amazing processor, big battery, will charge fast and doesn't have the chinese spy fears. Sorry but I'd never spend this sort of money on a Chinese phone thanks to the way their government signals their non-friendly intent on a regular basis.

The updates are almost non existent and very disappointing. Samsung has really fallen in the foldable.

ConfidentialExposure, 23 Jul 2026Most people here complain how expensive these Z Fold 8 fold... more1:1 id not ultra. Side by side in those tiny screens is not very popular. Being able to use ultra apps (tablet interfaces) *is* ultra and you can't even do it in the ultra phone.
1:1 aspect ratio is basic and and should not be used in ultra phones. Tablets better be 4:3 and abive and preferably 3:2 . I.e. the inner screen ought to be no less than 4:3.
Else you get a compromised experience with unituntuitive and allowed UIs because they are phone apps but stretched the lot of them.
Something that the non ultra model has solved, however they decided to put in it a smaller screen and a weak camera for no reason.

I am with a Fold 6 and am considering upgrading to the Wide, I think, but I hate that punch-hole on the inner screen. Such a downgrade from my Fold 6...

Am I wrong if I say that Samsung's clamshell flip phone is amazing? Can you imagine a perfectly square phone with a 1:1 screen ratio? I've tried the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7, and I'm actually addicted to using the cover screen. Granted, the user interface still needs further optimization, and the phone itself is a bit basic. But that's the form factor, you know? Oh, I wish Samsung would still make clamshell foldable phones, even though the increase is not too significant (as long as it is consistent). And I wish I could buy one.
