I'd really keep my eyes on the price-to-specs. While Xiaomi definitely screams for my interest, I'd not want any bloatware and spend my time removing it. I'd want a bloatware-free experience, or at least close to it. Fitting phones would be Google Pixel (I don't consider Google apps bloat since they're basically on every phone), Nothing, and Apple. Obviously I'm not choosing Apple because I need good battery life and don't want to be stuck in an ecosystem. I'm not spending more than 500€ / $500 on a phone anyway. I also prefer good performance (meaning stable 60fps overall), along with no overheating issues. Pixels are expensive for 6.7 or larger displays, so that's out as well. Nothing remains for me. So far, Nothing is good for me. I don't mind the "short" 3 years of Android and 6 years of security updates. Snapdragon as well is good. Other options I COULD consider would be Samsung and then install some custom ROM on it, or spend my time removing the unnecessary bloat (which I think is less than Xiaomi's, as well as less time consuming).

Especially if you pointed at china-only vivo S50 pm, there is no reason to not chose Magic 8 Pro Air here. Also, as a mini cameraphone Oppo X9s Pro should be mentioned, also china-only.
It seems even like Vivo x300 is the only global compact now

In 2026, the “best smartphone” really depends on what you need, but a few clear flagships stand out across reviews and rankings.

Top-tier phones like the iPhone 17 Pro Max, Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, and Google Pixel 10 Pro XL are consistently ranked among the best overall because they combine powerful processors, excellent cameras, long battery life, and strong AI features. Apple leads in performance and video quality, Samsung dominates in display and hardware versatility, while Google stands out for AI photography and clean Android software.

For Android users specifically, Samsung’s S-series (like the S26 Ultra) is usually considered the most complete “do-it-all” option, while Pixel phones are often preferred for software experience and camera consistency.

So in short: there isn’t just one “best phone” in 2026—it depends whether you prioritize performance, camera, battery, or value.

Apple as battery life champ is a joke we have seen the test on youtube, and most of the android flagships have a longer battery life. They have listed it there just as a advertisement for apple 📛
