Our verdict

The RedMagic Astra 2 launches at €699 for the 12GB/256GB version and €799 for the 16GB/512GB model. Those are some console-level prices for sure, but you are getting a premium device for gaming on the go.

The tablet has just the right size of display for portability, and it's an impressive-looking piece of kit. Then there is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip - one of the most powerful Android platforms right now. The Game Space UI, even if a bit confusing, does a fine job of optimizing and prioritizing sustained performance. And the new plugins support may turn into the cleverest feature RedMagic has implemented yet.

The Astra 2's battery life turned out to be solid, the charging is super-fast, the second USB-C port adds versatility and let's not forget the bypass charging option.

If you want a powerful compact tablet, better yet, a comfy device for gaming on the go - this is it. The Astra 2 has the guts to handle everything and has the screen to show it beautifully.
