I can get i5 9600K, RTX 3060 TI and 32GB DDR4 gaming PC for under 600 euro.
Or AMD Ryzen 7 5700x with 32GB DDr4 and 3060 TI for around 750 euro.
Or i5-12400F with 32GB DDR4 and RTX 3070 for under 900 euro
I can get something like i7 4790 with GTX 1070 for under 300 euro too and it will play all games in the market for next 5 years with no problems too.
Well maybe the energy cost is a bit higher but don't go crazy with the price like that. You forget that 55 inch TV eats energy too and probably a lot more then something like 24-27inch computer monitor and the console is also eating energy. And if we start to pick on this then cheaper games on PC will cover the energy cost. Never mind that you can do everything on a PC while console is just a entertainment device.
Also energy prices are different in different countries. Some countries have them really cheap even now

Plus, the higher power consumption of the PC supply easily surpasses the monthly PSN basic fee to be able to play online.
And since when the PS5 doesn't play PS4 games?

rizki1, 30 Oct 2026Consoles are still cheaper than PCs; to get PS5 equivalent ... morePC don't have rent fees and games are cheaper. For long term PC is a lot cheaper.
1000 isn't even a lot for a PC. Thats like 300 more then a console. that is like 2.5 years or less of the rent fees on a console. Rent fee is that subscription per month to be able to play games online.
Base game use to cost like 60 euro on a console while with that money on PC got ultimate edition on game that was all DLC and so on.
Only problem with PC is that there are more problems cause it's harder to optimize games for PC that have like millions of configuration of different hardware. Like several different motherboard per brand and same on RAM, GPU, CPU and storage speeds. While console is built on a one hardware and game need to be optimized on that single hardware to play smooth on either 30 or 60 fps.
Playstation yearly rent fee is
Essential 80 euro for 12 months.
Extra 135 euro for 12 months
Premium 160 euro for 12 months
PS5 cost 700 euro
PS5 Pro 1000 euro
PS5 Pro + Disc Drive 1700 euro
For 1000 euro you can build a decent middle class gaming computer that play all games with no limits like PlayStation have that can't play ps4 games on ps5 or even older games of PS
