Samsung is reportedly making 20% fewer Galaxy A phones this quarter

26 October 2026
Its flagships will get priority for scarce components instead.

I see this as the headphone jack / sd card moment for samsung, but for phones.

Increase the price due to "artificial" RAM shortage.
Decrease the production due to "artificial" RAM shortage.
Stop the sale of high-end A and M models (5x and 3x), due to "low" sales caused by "artificial" RAM shortage.
After the end of high-end A and M models, stop the sale of mid-end A and M models (2x). Same reason as above.
After the end of mid-end A and M models, stop the sale of low-end A, M, and F models (1x and 0x). Same reason as above.

After the long process of stoppage of A, M, and F series production, all that is left is the S models. Thus making samsung copy apple 1 for 1.

samsung used to mock apple for removing the headphone jack and sd card, only for samsung to follow apple. The same company that samsung mocked. With an ad too.

Maybe they should also stop releasing like 5 versions of the same phone across the A, F and M series.

I see this as the headphone jack / sd card moment for the A series, but a slow boil rather than an instant removal.

      Slowly increase price.
      Slowly decrease production.
Then slowly phase out the high-end A and M series (5x and 3x).
Then slowly phase out the mid-end A and M series (2x).
      Then slowly phase out the low-end A, M, and F series (1x and 0x).
All that is left is the S series, thus following the footsteps of apple.

A company that used to laugh and mock apple, became the same evil themselves all for the sake of the sin of greed.

Industry is profiting from increased sales. Consumers could be facing higher pricing due to demand.

Industry is not profiting and decreases production. Consumers could be facing higher pricing due to less quantities.

No matter what, prices go up.

                    Samsung A18 4gb 128 gb cost price 308k is almost the same with Samsung A17 8gb 256 GB 314k

Anonymous, 26 Oct 2026Buy only upcoming s27 ultra top configuration. Yes you pay ... moreOr get a flagship from this year or 2025, MUCH cheaper with better specs and already proven how they work from the time since release, the snapdragon 8 elite generation of phones is incredible for price:performance here, late 2025 or early 2026 also works if you want newer. I would NOT recommend anyone buy tech after the ram cartel began their exploitation.

They easily last 4 years now. If you could replace the battery you could stretch it to 6 years.

Buy only upcoming s27 ultra top configuration. Yes you pay huge money but you will enjoy it for 5 years or more. Now if you buy a cheaper phone you will buy a new one again after 2 years maximum. So buying a top phone is cheaper for long term. And you won't use a weak underpowered phone.
