Foxconn (who did the assembly for Apple) can only reach 60% yield rate due to apple's choice to use overcomplicated hinge with very little tolerance. Considering how crappy their QC nowadays, it wouldn't surprise me if they deliberately sent some deffective batches just to fill the early quota. Unless someone has found a new material that can remove the inherent problems of foldable design, I would stay with regular slab phones...

To trust your experience with Samsung phones so that to decide that foldables are not a ready technology is so off... that would be like trying the bad equipped phones of late 2000s and think that smartphones are not ready because Bada phones sucked (and they did).

    This is the wrong conclusion. Never buy a Samsung in a new category, wait for Apple to set the standards and then wait for Samsung to copy them before buying Samsung. Or better yet straight buy Apple in first few gens.

              Lol... Cracked screen after just 6 hours of use. That's ridiculous. Not even Huawei had such embarrasing level of QC. I bet the fruit fan Will say "you were holding it wrong!"

                            apple has gone downhill honestly, they've lost all their special sauce

                            in trying to appeal to a wider consumer base and trying to "copy" others, they forgot what made them great. now they're neither as innovative as the chinese nor as polished as they were before.

                            Neither here nor there, stuck in the middle of nowhere.
