          It wouldn't be that big of deal, if wasn't Samsung uses UWB, on their own SmartTag 2/3.

          This is where big companies product fragmentation start showing problems.

              And they'll still charge $1000+ for it.

                They are clutching hard onto UWB. At this point both, the S27 and the S27+ should have it, otherwise there is no incentive to upgrade at all, nothing is changing.

                      So, they’re choosing to stick with an update that brings a "bonus" green line on the screen rather than upgrading the hardware? And then their service center will just claim it’s the user’s fault—classic, Scamsung.

                          Remember, Huawei was the one that got banned! When we say Samsung is the Android smartphone company that benefitted the most from Huawei getting banned the fanboys will raise pitchforks and come for us.

                            My car supports a digital key via UWB but my S23 doesn't have UWB, so I'm forced to carry a remote that solely acts as a UWB beacon. More and more new cars support digital keys.

                            Adoption is a chicken and egg problem. So I think UWB should become a standard feature even on mid-range phones.

                              Trees can also disrupt UWB signals. UWB can also be affected by adverse weather conditions and also by the direction in which the signal is transmitted. That lack of range needs to be made up by building an abundance of connection points grouped closely together.

                                  Ultra Wide Band doesn't work indoors and you need to be within a 1,000 ft and need to have a line of site to the UWB tower. Mid and low band spectrum are way better both indoors and outdoors.

                                        Removing yet another feature while not upgrading ANYTHING beside the chipset and raising the price. Kinda fitting for a Scamsung name.
