8GB isn't really enough to run all their Siri AI stuff. They are literally going to add 1GB more just to make it enough to barely function! It would be 12GB if it wasn't for the RAM crisis.

The current iPhone 17 has gotten quite expensive lately—the base 256GB model is now 1,100 euros, up from 900 euros just two months ago. At this rate, I expect the iPhone 18 to start around 1,200 euros, which is honestly ridiculous.

They use 6-channel RAM for iPhone 18 series, that mean they use 1,5GB per die.
Guess they fail to secure enough 2GB DRAM in current RAMageddon (or just because it's cheaper)
It doesn't matter much. iPhone users are already used to apps reloading every time they switch between them.
