For example, the iPhone 11, a 7-year-old model, still receives the iOS 27 update. So the cost per year is relatively low compared to smartphones from other manufacturers.
On top of that, transferring 2 or 3 banking apps, or other apps that require two-factor authentication, can be quite complicated. How often do you really want to go through that process?

[deleted post]Ain't nothing wrong with buying Apple, but spending so much money on products you'll eventually replace? $1,700 for the base 18 Pro Max and $550 for the base AW Series 12 (42mm) in my country, that's insane! Let's not even talk about the MB Air, MB Pro and upcoming iPhone Duo pricing. Do I need "fancy" triple-cameras? Nope, not a photographer. I rarely take photos, mostly while on vacation. Do I need a "smooth" 120Hz & gigantic 6.9" display? Nope, 60Hz with the A19 CPU feels good on my 6.1" display.
To each their own, yes? I earn good money, I just realized that spending your hard-earned cash should be spend wisely.

Everything's so overpriced nowadays..
Glad I got the iPhone 17e with the Watch SE 3, using them with the MB Neo happily.
I love the Apple ecosystem, but there's no reason to spend thousands of dollars on devices that you'll replace in a few years anyway.

Good phone, nothing to worry about for those who already have a 17 Pro - unless all you care about is owning the latest trendy colour.
The smaller dynamic island, the larger vapour chamber cooling, the better camera exposure controls, the 20% faster chip - yeah, good stuff, just too pricy.
Well, pricy will have a new face when the Duo comes out.

This is such a lazy update it is almost borderline scam. Slightly bigger battery and camera increments in the same body. Even they knew it's such a low ball move they had to release different colors so people CAN differentiate them from 17. We are now at peak phone enshiitification, especially they retroactively increased the prices of the old models.
