Skipping the 11 just like I skipped the 10. No, had nothing to do with this feature, that feature or anything else.
My 9 Pro XL is not damaged, works as intended and does everything I need.
I DO NOT understand people trading/selling a one year old phone, spending the extra money on a new one that you most likely will not see any REAL improvements.
"Oh but my carrier GIVES me a new phone ever year for free!" Uh huh...and you continue to pay an overpriced contract for that "free" phone.
Unless your phone is damaged, you typically get 5 or more years of security updates and several years of major updates. Just keep your phone for 3-4 years. If more people did that, perhaps the manufacturers would actually INNOVATE and come up with something that would entice you to buy a new phone from time to time.

Lugia4k, 30 Aug 2026You will get the exact same experience with a midrange, now... moreNo, a mid-range device doesn’t offer the same camera quality, doesn’t have USB 3.0, doesn’t offer the same sound quality from the speakers, and doesn’t have a screen that’s as bright. It also doesn’t come with 7 years of software updates. Resource-intensive games aren’t important to me, since I never play that kind of game—just like most people.

And it is expected that a phone lasts 2 years nowadays, just saying.

I've been using a Pixel 9 Pro XL for two years and it still works like new. It's smooth and responsive, and I've never had a single issue, even with heavy daily use. There's so much BS said about Pixels that just doesn't reflect reality.

Why is the review so delayed? Is google not allowing to post reviews so people buy the phone with discounts because its so awful?

If hardware isn't important, why would Google put a more expensive main sensor in the Pro models?

What about Linux on a new Pixel. Is it useable for desktop on big monitor with mouse and keyboard?

It's AI photography nowadays. Also, new tech in sensors. I believe a 1/2.76" Isocell JN5 can produce better results that ye olde 1/2.55" IMX363. 😛

Pumpino, 28 Aug 2026The Pixel 11's 1/1.56-inch main sensor is smaller than... moreAt least google has realized their blunder of using a freaking 1/2" sensor, and has bumped it back to a respectable 1/1.56", on par with its direct competitors like S26 and Iphone 17.
In effect, you are getting a smaller-but-decent main lens + a decent telephoto lens instead of a larger main lens. I don't think that is a bad compromise, as it makes the camera setup more versatile for a casual user. Also it creates a clear differentiation with the Pro series.
As far as image quality is concerned, DXOMark has tested Pixel 11 and Pixel 9 on their latest v6 protocol, and the photo score from main cameras is largely similar (P11 - 169, P9 - 168). So two years of computational advances is roughly able to compensate for the smaller sensor.

every now and then phones are not at all needed. these companies shud just retire. release a phone every 4 to 5 years once thats more than enough. it will save resources and save lot of everything thess companies waste.
