Xiaomi 18 Fold is officially coming in September with the monstrous Xring O3 chipset

24 August 2026
Its benchmarks seem unreal for a second-generation SoC.

rizki1, 24 Aug 20265 million AnTuTu on a foldable??? 🤯 I don't know if I can trust that score from the same Xiaomi that blocks certain benchmarks to hide throttling...

They picked the wrong smartphone to unveil that silicon then. Foldable smartphone aren't it for flagship SoCs even though it really does make sense from a performance standpoint, it doesn't make sense when it comes to thermal and power.

                  5 million AnTuTu on a foldable??? 🤯

I love Pixel phones! But how is it possible for a company that doesn't even reach a billion-dollar valuation to release a new chip that competes with the best on the market, while Google—a company valued at over $3 billion—releases a weak chip with an obsolete GPU? It really makes you think.

Tensor G6: TSMC 3nm, ARM C1, performs like 4nm chip
Xiaomi O3: TSMC 3nm, ARM C1. performs like 2nm chip

                          Hell Yeah Google

""All in all, it seems like Xiaomi's self-developed chipset has really grown up and will be a serious competitor to the best that Qualcomm, MediaTek, and Apple have to offer.""

There is 2 serious problems with this. First is that Xiaomi have not done much of these Xring chips that have ended in phones and tablets to be said that these are really grown up.

The second problems is mentioning Apple that is not a competition to anyone cause you have the chips only in Apple devices. It makes me ask why leave out Kirin, Exynos and Tensor ? As each of the 3 are doing chips and for each for their own brand where you don't see the chips on any other brand devices. How is that even competition ? Qualcomm, Mediatek and Unisoc is in the competition that make chips for all brands to use on their devices.

If you get the chips only for one brand then what competition the chips have with others that do for their own brand only ?

Xiaomi able to create a monster chipset by 3rd generation and tensor looking like a dimensity from 5 years ago.

No design hints? I really hope they dont go with the iphone design, like there are four phone brands (Scammy, Crapple, Goongle and Motorola) that actually has got their brand design.

I am surprised but in some ways, kind of expected, that the Mix series nomenclature being retired on its 10th year anniversary of its introduction of the original Mi Mix in 2016. I'm wondering what happened.

And I do hope the next Xiaomi (18) Fold put autofocusing on its ultrawide lens sensor because it's been a while they put it (the last and only one was the Mix Fold 2 from 2022).
