Anonymous, 24 Aug 2026Most useful feature on my phone. Unlike the Android version... moreAndroids used fingerprint unlock that worked during the pandemic unlike iOS rats who were forced to use pin for 18 months.

Fabiana, 24 Aug 2026I don’t think there’s currently any sort of glass that will... moreThere are lab prototypes of layered glass that get less layers near the crease so it can be used like almost all screen is normal phone glass and only small line in the middle bend but its made in way that is tough enough to be used as normal flat screen. As I remember issue was cost of production and visual artifacts that could be eliminated with tighter layers and some software tweaks. But still we are years from it to be even consider useful in mass market, and probably before it, some chemically etched polymer glass that can bend and be hard enough by it self to not need protective layer as all folding screen have now.

LOL, going to steal the comment from the Exynos 2700 post: iPhone users, early appointed journalist/bloggers by Apple always praise for its design, hinge and usability, among others.
I'm mean, the form factor was from first by Huawei, and the hinge is mass public ready by Samsung and countless trial and error of all the early Android vendor adopters... The ONLY thing people can objectively looking at improvement from Apple over the existing foldable phones is how would iOS deal with the unfold screen interaction for the apps and what it can bring for productivity/creativty over the users.

Foozer, 24 Aug 2026Must be that new CEO shaking things up.More likely they couldn't fit the regular faceID hardware in the thin form factor.

Strawhat, 24 Aug 2026Touch ID back in iphone? What a time to be aliveThey have no choice, unless they put two sets of FaceID on the front and inner screen. I mean user should be able to unlock the phone whether it is folded or unfolded.
