Microsoft quietly extends Windows 10 support for another year

26 June 2026
It was set to end this October, but now you have extra time to keep using Windows 10 without worrying about security updates.

Win11 is the slowest, most bloated version and definitely a privacy killer.

I built a PC last year, installed Win11 straight away. No blue screens but it felt slow, laggy, onedrive and unrequested online backup got on the nerve over time, Windows Defender leeching CPU time, enabling bitlocker with no request and severe privacy issues such as Xbox bar and abusive telemetry that now takes screenshots of the desktop were decisive to drop it for good.

Now running Windows Server 2025 desktop experience. It’s much more expensive, harder to set up, had to install mostly all the drivers manually, add and remove components, some powershell and then voi-la: it’s magic. Somehow the PC feels like it gained much noticeable performance gains. Even loading games and running them is consistently faster. Best Windows version overall since Win7, just feels a tad slower than 8 and 8.1.

Back then patching through dial-up internet took almost forever, and you have a limit on internet usage.

Win98 is the least disliked of the windows cursed phase.

So far Win 11 and Win ME are competing for the top spot for "the most hated and disliked windows OS ever".

In third place is Win 8 and 8.1 (Although the telemetry was criticized, it's the UI change that really made it's users angry. It disturbed the muscle memory. A disturbed muscle memory, disturbs the workflow).

In fourth place is Win Vista (though it's not the OS fault. It's that powerful hardware is not yet available when Vista was released. By the time powerful hardware has arrived, Win7 was released.)

Microsoft should extend windows 10 support until 2028.

By that time, microsoft would have "hopefully" replace their current CEO sloptimus prime, and "probably" release the good phased windows 12 to save us all from the cursed phase windows 11.

As far as i understand or know is that on Linus you can't play online multiplayer games cause the games don't have support for the Linux system.

Also i don't really think people as gamers who play the single player mode games only. Gamers for me are the people who compete in player versus player games.
