It's a grift, like everything else he does. He got a 2 year old Chinese-made phone, slapped the American flag on it and sold it to his adoring 'patriots' for an exorbitant price.

      NBC is a garbo source, I foun Snazzy Labs review to be much better.

      Hic oconclusion is that the phone is slightly marked up by 50 dollars, has a custom body, and is surrounded by extremely shoddy support and shoestring operations behind the product. (His unit came with a piece of paper that looked like it was folded by hand, and printed in a home printer.) The phone comes with Truth Social pre-installed, and there is no sign of spying, tracking, or anything malicious beyond stock android. Snazzy himself said it very well, it's just a very familiar product wearing a MAGA hat with a slight markup as a result.

              While i also think that US spying is way worse cause they actually do harm to the world more with their politics like if they can't rip you off then you become their enemy and all allies need to make them as enemies too

                Because a pure 100% made in US mobile would be unaffordably uncompetitive like General Motors and Ford

                        Mobiles do tend to age like fine wine.

                        What's worse is, HTC has effectively shut down their mobile operations. This phone will not receive a single update, despite being 50 bucks more expensive than when it launched two years ago.

                                  Even Trump cannot organically source and manufacture a phone that he claimed would be purely American! See how difficult that is in practice? This is exactly why he shouldn't have started a tariff war with the rest of the world and killed off globalized trade. The interdependence between countries is what flourishes fair trade and keeps prices in control for normal people like you and me. The moment he started weaponizing trade, that is when a spiral of problems were created not just for the USA but for the entire globe. One man's poor decision making has impacted the entire world, simply because he wasn't fit for his position.
