Apple is all about efficiency so using the same fab makes more sense as that will actually cost them less per unit, but it will be binned version of the SoC with less RAM and less cores. The same strategy as the A19 vs A19 Pro.

I see it more like - the Pro models, Air and Ultra will have A20 Pro built with 2nm process and 12 GB RAM LPDDR6; while 18 and 18e will use regular A20 based on "older" 3nm and 8 GB RAM LPDDR5X.

I don't think they will decrease the RAM or storage. They will probably use same spec but non Samsung display, non Sony camera sensor, lower strength glass and may change Aluminium to something cheaper.

I guess that the 18e will keep the current design since the 18 will be downgraded under the hood. And go figure what unseen cheap choices will be made overall. But the 18 should keep the 120hz screen. If it won’t, what’s the point. Just get the 18e.
